The lead character of OMG 2, played by Pankaj Tripathi, is a Hindu Shiva temple vendor named Kanti Sharan Mudgal. From the orange tilaks and marigolds exchanged in prayer to the orange buntings and awnings decorating the temple grounds, we welcome him in a blaze of color. Kanti, his wife, and their two children all reside in a home provided by the temple. Their lives are quiet and unremarkable until the day when Vivek gets expelled from school. Kanti learns the youngster became severely addicted to masturbation after being bullied into believing he had a little appendage, and that the same group of bullies videotaped him while he was at it and posted the footage online.A physician (Brijendra Kala) advises Kanti about the crippling remorse that may affect youngsters who discover masturbation. We see everything unfold before our eyes as Vivek tries to take his own life and is saved by a mysterious man with dreadlocks and a heavenly grin. To provide a helping hand from up high, let me introduce you to Kumar, a messenger of Shiva who was just summoned. Kanti, who realizes he has failed as a parent, encourages his son to file a lawsuit against the school and the “hucksters” and “miracle workers” who have mislead him. Aware of his own complicity, he files suit against himself. A judge (Pavan Malhotra) and a smooth defense attorney (Yami Gautam Dhar) watch bewilderedly.Kanti’s courtroom arguments are frequently absurd and oversimplified at first, but end up making a serious point. He uses citations from ancient writings to emphasize the significance of sexuality and sexual health in Indian culture. The film succeeds in remaining light even as it steadily widens its scope of inquiry. Tripathi’s performance is reminiscent to Ted Lasso’s (with its upbeat tone and innate irritation). The tone of the picture is relentlessly comedic. The film assumes that once the audience has laughed a little and tension has eased (thanks to words like “hast-maithun” and “sex worker”), a greater realization might arise.The video makes extensive use of Hinduism in order to make its case for the inherent openness of Hindu thought. Kumar seems to like dressing up as Shiva, as seen by the white bull that often trails after him. The camera pans to a trident, shiv lingam, or framed picture of God every ten minutes or so. The judge for Malhotra gets angry, but ultimately caves in when Kanti transforms the courtroom into a symbolic shrine. Kamini is the name of Yami Gautam’s character, and it is derived from the Sanskrit term kma, which means sexual desire and pleasure.

However, the film is just as cautious. “When the world was taking baby steps, our Sanatan Hindu religion was soaring,” Kanti boasts, alluding to the rise of Hinduism, yet he makes no mention (even in passing) of the references to homosexuality in ancient Indian writings, despite his claims of an open and progressive past. His’sex education is vital’ speech has been met with backlash from religious conservatives of all stripes, as seen by the simultaneous televised protests of Hindu, Muslim, and Christian religious leaders. Having the openness and magic of a fantasy film makes OMG 2 superior to Ram Setu, but it also falls back on tired Macaulay-bashing in the film’s conclusion to explain the problems with Indian culture.

Both the film’s photography and editing leave plenty to be desired, and the CGI is also rather shoddy. Kanti’s easily startled wife, played by Geeta Agarwal Sharma, is hilarious. The violent and obnoxiously loud series Gadar, with which OMG 2 is competing in theaters, can be a bit of a party movie, and so can Kumar. The characters played by Sunny Deol always manage to be heard in the movies. However, let’s also hear what Pankaj Tripathi has to say.

The Zeppelin cruiser idea that was displayed at the Auto Expo four years ago served as the inspiration for the Ronin, although this bike has obviously chosen a different approach to design. Different motorcycle models will be seen from various perspectives. There are traces of cafe racers, flat trackers, scramblers, and neo-retro bikes there, but the cruiser seems to be the design theme that stands out the most.

The front USD fork’s raked-out angle is the most obvious cruiser hint, but TVS has added a few further features. For instance, the chain drive receives an enlarged cover that is intended to resemble the large cruiser’s belt drive system. The tall, swept-back handlebar and the alloy wheel design that resembles some large Harleys are further features.

The USD suspension and large 14-liter fuel tank contribute to the motorcycle’s overall presence up front, but the rear end is undoubtedly more divisive. The grab handle and fender both have an unattractive appearance, however they can both be removed if you don’t mind going without them.

The sleek, almost Robocop-like LED taillight that seamlessly blends into the metal rail that makes up the back subframe is something I do enjoy. Stylish mirrors and LED indicators in the shape of arrows also give the bike a pleasant luxury feel for the price. Actually, for this kind of money, the overall quality and finish are perhaps the best you’ll find.

TVS Ronin: engine and performance

There is a brand-new 225cc engine for the Ronin. Although this bike lacks any of the hybrid technology that was featured in the 2018 prototype, its displacement figure is remarkably comparable to that of the Zeppelin. What you get is a totally square design with 66mm for both the bore and stroke. The engine features a shared 5-speed gearbox with the RTR 200, a four-valve head, and an oil-cooler that drives the engine’s rear wheels.

TVS makes it abundantly apparent that this motorcycle was created with the intention of providing performance that is easily accessible and isn’t about high speeds or racing. A little bit more than 20 horsepower and slightly under 20 Nm of torque are the end results. By no means are those impressive numbers, but what you should focus on here is that the peak torque is reached at just 3,750 rpm. To put things in context, the new Royal Enfield Classic 350 generates its maximum torque at 4,000 revolutions per minute (rpm), but the larger Enfield naturally has 35 percent more torque to deliver.

On paper, the Ronin might appear to deliver power in a manner resembling that of a Royal Enfield, but in practise, it sounds and feels much more like a TVS. The bike’s exhaust noise is pleasant and delicious, and the engine is incredibly smooth.

The Ronin also features a silent start system, which up until now has only been seen in commuters and small-capacity scooters. It’s a useful tool to have because it just enhances an already well developed experience.

The riding experience is still primarily focused on that powerful bottom-end performance even though it is obvious that this is not a slow-revving thumper of an engine. As would be expected, the available low-end pull is incredibly pleasurable, and TVS used relatively short gearing, creating a fantastically adaptable ride. The engine pulls nicely at just 3,000 rpm and can run in high gears at extremely low speeds. When you open the throttle, the bike reacts well even at speeds as low as 15 kph in third gear.

This will be excellent in a congested, chaotic urban environment, but it degrades highway efficiency. The Ronin can comfortably cruise at 85 kph and can maintain that pace for up to 100 kph without showing any indications of strain. However, anything faster than that moves very slowly, and if you want to view the speedometer’s stated top speed of 120 kph, you’ll probably have to stoop down. The engine can crank to 9,000 rpm, but anything above 8,000 rpm feels somewhat pointless.

If you’re looking for consistently high speeds, you should probably seek elsewhere.

TVS Ronin: comfort, chassis and handling

The redesigned frame has been thoughtfully developed to amp up a planted, but light and simple riding character, making the Ronin a really comfortable bike to ride in the city with that type of performance.

Take the suspension fork’s lazily inclined 27-degree rake angle as an illustration. This has a lot of stability and is very cruiser-like, but it sacrifices agility. To get around this, TVS created a fork offset at the bottom, a feature often found on dirt motorcycles. However, TVS has gone the other way around here and brought the wheel back in, whereas the fork offset on a dirt bike moves the wheel forward to enhance the trail. As a result, the bike is lighter and easier to ride while reintroducing some agility. Truly, modifying a chassis can be a highly skilled craft.

The new split double cradle chassis for the Ronin is unquestionably notable for its USD fork setup. The spring and damping rates have been fully altered to meet the pleasant nature of the Ronin. This is the same 41mm Showa fork from the RR 310. The overall suspension travel values are comparable to the RR 310, and there is a monoshock in the back.

Now, we only had a brief opportunity to ride the bike in South Goa on a day when the IMD issued an orange alert. Needless to say, we did not get to push the bike to its absolute limits, but the initial impression is very favourable. Although this motorcycle weighs only 160 kg, TVS has managed to strike the perfect balance between stability and light steering agility. Even with their blocky off-road design, the new TVS Rambler tyres performed surprisingly well and required very little effort to change direction.

The Ronin does seem to be made for some off-road riding with those kinds of tyres and 181mm of ground clearance. But as soon as you start doing dumb things, you’ll find that the standing posture is uncomfortable, the rear ABS can’t be switched off, and the suspension can easily bottom out.

The Ronin is obviously not an off-road vehicle, not even in the league of a mediocre Scrambler. However, it is really cosy while driving. The foot pegs are positioned comfortably beneath you, and the riding position is entirely upright and neutral with a reach down to the handlebar that feels natural. Although the roads in South Goa were generally very excellent, the suspension setup feels like it will be easy on your back over rough surfaces, and the seat is also well padded.

TVS Ronin: features and price

You would unquestionably anticipate good suspension comfort from a TVS, and the same is true of features.

The offset instrument console, which was inspired by the Ducati Scrambler, has a lot of information displayed, but it’s also highly legible and simple to read. The bike has hazard lights, a side-stand-down engine-kill feature, and a slip and assist clutch with a gentle action.

The two riding modes on the Ronin merely modify the sensitivity of the ABS, though. Speaking of, the lower and middle models only come with single-channel ABS, whilst the top-spec model includes a dual-channel setup, adjustable levers, and a tonne of linked features accessible through a special TVS app.

The Ronin’s starting price of Rs 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom) is actually rather alluring. However, the base SS variant only comes in two solid colours, and the mid-range TD model will set you back Rs 8,000 more if you like the classier dual-tone colour scheme or the gold USD fork. Be prepared to spend approximately Rs 20,000 more than the base model if you get the highest-spec TD model.

The Ronin now competes with a number of 250cc choices on the market, and while it performs less well overall, it outperforms them all in terms of features.

TVS Ronin: Should you buy one?

If you really pushed me to describe the TVS Ronin, I’d say it’s an easy-riding cruiser type of bike with a little bit of toughness built in. But I’m still not really sure what it’s aiming to be. It doesn’t really have any direct competitors, but depending on your point of view, options may include the Bajaj Avenger 220, Royal Enfield Meteor, Honda CB350RS, or any number of similarly priced 250s.

If you’re not interested in speed, aggression, or excitement, the Ronin is a very nice bike to ride, I can say that for sure.

When Covid brought us indoors, he introduced the country to some incredible cinema east of the Vindhyas. “Driving License,” a 2019 film by Jean Paul Lal, was one such film that received widespread acclaim throughout India.

It was a brilliant notion to recreate the event several years later. Undoubtedly, the news that Bollywood would reevaluate the film was met with a degree of scepticism.

Three years later, armed with optimism and a ticket (the advertisements notwithstanding), as you adapt to the comfort of the theatre, “Selfie” screams at you.

This is a classic example of contrast. A week ago, I advocated for avoiding comparisons between an original Telugu success and its Hindi remake. It is time to be modest. The U-turn I make is primarily circumstantial and nearly compelled by the calamitous pre-production and production phases of the remake.

When a fan moment goes awry, Lal told a simple but engaging story about an unintentional ego clash between a renowned film celebrity and his fan. Filmed in Kerala, the cinematography was a script in and of itself, and the acting was flawless.

Raj Mehta increases the scope and decreases the story’s intrinsic value. The result is a mainstream Bollywood film that, if early indications are any indication, will continue the recent trend of Akshay films performing well at the box office.

Perhaps exaggeration is inevitable in the cinematic arts. The art also lies in understanding where to draw the line and how much a tight narrative should be revisited under the pretence of going pan-Indian. On multiple fronts, the director fails.

Emraan Hashmi plays Om Prakash Agarwal, an inspector at the Bhopal RTO. He and his son Gabbu (Neev Ahuja) are avid Vijay Kumar (popular Bollywood actor) admirers (Akshay Kumar). Vijay Kumar travels to Bhopal to film a scene. Even though he enjoys driving expensive vehicles, he realises he requires a licence. He even agrees to go to the RTO and grant the overzealous inspector the privilege of a selfie. Things fall apart. Totally incorrect. In the background, another geriatric actor, Suraj Diwan (Abhimanyu Singh), longs for a film success that has eluded him.

The conflict between Vijay and Agarwal’s egos becomes exaggerated and public knowledge. Both adopt positions that are difficult to abandon, and their every move is monitored by paparazzi and the media. The public sentiment rapidly shifts from favouring the inspector to siding with the actor who engages in mind games. In 143 minutes, of which more than 20 are spent establishing that Akshay is a star, the film exaggerates where the original aimed for simplicity.

While Prithviraj and Kuruvilla Joseph constructed the crisis with measured movements and incredible acting, Akshay overacts and Emran is reduced to a small role. Consequently, the marinated script loses all of its vigour. The adaptation lacks the necessary impact that made the original a near-masterpiece, making this a very weak copy.

Akshay Kumar had an excellent opportunity to reevaluate his artistic domain and imitate Prithvi. Unfortunately, he is so full of himself, which is likely justified by the fact that he is portraying an ubiquitous celebrity. His one-liners are funny, but that’s about it.

In addition, he is showing signs of ageing, and his behaviour belies his age. There was a time when the media was filled with stories about him interfering with his co-stars’ roles. The veracity of this claim cannot be demonstrated. In this film, the absence of equilibrium between the space occupied by the two actors is the film’s primary flaw.

Did the film lose itself in its script by attempting too much when it had the tempting option of remaining faithful to the source material and deviating from it only to fit a pan-India context? Was the script (Rishhabh Sharma) overly impressive and influential?

Also, I presume that Mukesh Chhabra, who was in charge of casting, made some incorrect decisions. Even in the limited space, it seems inappropriate to begin with Disha Penty as the actress’s wife. As the inspector’s wife, Nushrat Bharucha is adequate, but the script offers her nothing. Among the other characters with screen time is Abhimanyu Singh, who attempts very hard to appear embarrassing and succeeds. What the creative team was up to with him would remain an enigma. Meghna Malik as the overzealous councilwoman is excellent, as is Mahesh Thakur as the actor’s secretary.

As indicated previously, Akshay overextends himself, thereby disturbing the required equilibrium. Prithviraj portrayed the celebrity power as an undercurrent with such dexterity. Perhaps it was a deliberate decision to contrast rather than extend the role in the adaptation because it was difficult to imitate.

Could the casting director have chosen someone like Ajay Devgn for the role? That’s a debatable point, but I can’t help but believe that one of the film’s major flaws is the manner in which the character of Vijay Kumar develops. In stark contrast is Emran Hashmi’s character. With the narrative stacked in favour of the protagonist, he is viewed as a contrived, inconsequential foil. Another debatable point is whether or not a stronger actor, such as Raj Kumar Rao, could have merged into the plot. Given the director’s right to make creative or commercial decisions, the uneven depiction of the characters is the film’s undoing.

According to this newspaper, Akshay Kumar now holds the Guinness record for the greatest number of photographs. It is possible that the triumph will conclude there. This is a boisterous and uninspired remake for those who have seen “Driving License” and the outstanding performances by Kuruvilla Joseph and Prithviraj.

The 40-minute Nintendo Direct was jam-packed with a tonne of information, including some amazing surprises. Plenty of Zelda, a dash of Pikmin 4, a serving of Bayonetta, and some surprises were included. Here are all the news, trailers, and announcements that Nintendo has given the gaming community. Buckle up because there is a LOT.

A Pikmin 4 trailer, which is as adorable and charming as you’d imagine, opened Nintendo Direct. The release date, July 21st 2023, is the big news!

Next, a trailer for Volume 3 of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 expansion pass, which will be released later this month, and a sneak peak at the new story scenario that will be included in Volume 4 later this year.

A brand-new Samba de Amigo game from Sega is now available! This summer, Party Central will be available for the Nintendo Switch.

Then, Fashion Dreamer, a Marvelous Entertainment release, was unveiled via Nintendo Direct. It should be released sometime this year.

The biggest fight in Kollywood will take place at the start of 2023 between Varisu and Thunivu. At the box office, the hit movies starring Thalapathy Vijay and Ajith Kumar have done well. Both were well-received by their audience. However, after having a great run in theatres, Varisu and Thunivu will soon be released on OTT platforms. On February 22, 2023, Varisu will make its Amazon Prime Video debut. Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam versions of Varisu will be released. The Hindi release of Varisu has not been confirmed by the OTT platform, though. On January 11, 2023, Varisu appeared at every nearby theatre. Almost a month after its theatrical release, it will be available on OTT.

Ajith Kumar’s heist thriller Thunivu will start streaming live on Netflix on February 8th, 2023. The movies Thunivu is available for viewers to watch in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. On social media, Netflix announced the release date and stated, “Ajith Kumar has arrived at last, which means it’s time for the explosions to start! We can’t stay CHILLA CHILLA since Thunivu will be available on Netflix in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi on February 8!”

Project Thunivu, a heist thriller documenting a cat-and-mouse chase between bank robbers and police, was directed by H Vinoth. The gang’s commander is portrayed by Ajith Kumar, while his accomplice is Majnu Warrier. Samuthirakani is also the DGP Dayalan in Thunivu. The film was financed by Boney Kapoor.

The Michael movie review The amazing visuals

Michael movie review: The titular character in Michael is disappointed with the way things are turning out in a scene that occurs halfway through the book. So, after being honked at by a car, he stops it and sets it on fire. The antique vehicle burns within a tunnel and is engulfed in smoke. Both visually stunning and purposeless, the setting is. Although it is never accomplished, the intention is to display the hero’s fury and his potential. A gangster’s mother is seen in another scene, lying close to his son’s bloody body. The Yin-Yang sign is formed by their two bodies while director of photography Kiran Koushik gently raises the camera. Is there a deeper meaning to it that relates to the mother and son’s relationship? What significance does it have to the plot? In what way does it further the story? A emphatic “no” is the response to each of these queries. Instead of saying, “Wowah,” we ask, “So?” when we see these beautiful frames from Michael.

Michael movie review

The outrageous part of Michael is the conviction with which its creators erect a massive budget and technical bravado on the thinnest of tales. For the most of the film, the audience is kept in the dark about the protagonist’s true intentions. We only know that Guru (Gautham Vasudev Menon), a classy mobster in Mumbai, seems to be Michael’s inspiration and that he aspires to be like Guru. The movie doesn’t even show us Michael (Sundeep Kishan) until thirty minutes have passed, in an attempt to create a false myth. He fights his way out of saving Guru and swiftly gains Guru’s trust. When Guru’s enemy’s daughter is discovered, Michael is dispatched on a mission to stalk her and kill her. Michael eventually develops feelings for Theera, as is typical in many such tales (Divyansha Kaushik).

SS Rajamouli stressed the need to give his action sequences an emotional motivation when discussing them. Michael is lacking precisely that. Because the setting is too chilly for such emotions, the drama that filmmaker Ranjit Jeyakodi attempts to produce completely fails and lacks emotion. Consider the manner in which Guru informs his wife of the passing of their kid. Our son is dead, he continues. simply that Theera responds in a manner similar to that when her father is fatally shot. It is unjustified for the spectator to feel anything for these cardboard cutouts when even the characters don’t exhibit any feeling.

The 8th day collection of Pathan, which became the biggest film of Shahrukh’s career, has come to the fore. According to the initial trends, Pathan  Box Office has created history by earning in double digits on Wednesday as well.

How much did Pathan earn in 8 days?

Trade analyst Ramesh Bala has shared the collection of the 8th day. According to him, Pathan Box Office 8th day all India net collection can be Rs 18 crore. The 8-day India collection of the Shahrukh-Deepika starrer movie has gone up to 348.25 crores. The Hindi version of Pathan earned 55 crores on Wednesday (first day), 68 crores on Thursday, 38 crores on Friday, 51.50 crores on Saturday, 58.50 crores on Sunday, 25.50 crores on Monday, 22 crores on Tuesday. Now the power of the movie continues on Wednesday as well. There has been a slight decline in the earnings as compared to the 7th day. Despite this, Pathan’s collection is strong.

Pathan towards earning 700 crores worldwide

According to trade analyst Ramesh Bala, Pathan has collected a gross of 675 crores in the worldwide market in 8 days. By the second weekend, Pathan will easily do a worldwide business of 700 crores. Pathan has become the biggest film in the career of Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Pathan has beaten the lifetime collection of many films of Shah Rukh Khan. Pathan has beaten the lifetime collection (317.91 crores) of Yash Raj Banner’s spy entertainer War in 7 days.

Tina Datta on Bigg Boss16

This Weekend Ka Vaar will be hosted by Farah Khan, with Salman Khan returning for the Bigg Boss16 final episodes. The previews of Farah hosting and greeting competitors inside the house are the subject of extensive discussion. Farah Khan’s rebuke of Priyanka Chahar Chaudhary and criticism of Tina Datta’s attitude was one of the show’s most eye-catching advertisements. Since the promotion’s release, Farah has become a social media trend.

While some criticise the Bollywood filmmaker for her remarks, others appreciate her for calling out “those creating negativity” within the house.
One user wrote, “Farah Khan attacked Priyanka and Tina without justification. This programme is completely critical of the Mandali gang. I will not watch today’s show.”

There are other tweets defending Farah’s criticism. One of them said, “The same girls that chased Farah Khan during family week are now being disrespectful and unruly towards her because she is speaking the truth and exposing their hypocrisy and bad behaviour. Another supporter of Farah added, “#TinaDatta is so false and so annoying.” She manipulates feelings and makes fun of everyone. For those who were unaware, Farah criticised them for persistently bullying Shalin Bhanot. This resulted in a dispute amongst the three. Tina and Priyanka argued with the host and attempted to defend their position. This nevertheless annoyed Farah. Farah attempted to make them comprehend, but grew frustrated and stated, “If you don’t want to listen to me, I’ll leave.”

When you hear the name of some actors, you immediately think of just one movie, and most people think of the same movie. And in this case, it’s not because the actor only had a small number of roles. Instead, it’s because that one film is so famous and well-known that it’s become part of the actor’s identity. And Pakeezah is without a doubt that movie for Meena Kumari.

When the movie came out on February 4, 1972, it did not do well right away. That’s understandable, since Pakeezah wasn’t made for the 1970s audience, which was used to the fluffy romances of the 1960s and getting ready to embrace kitschy masala films and the Angry Young Man trope. Since the mid-1950s, when life was slower and more graceful, Pakeezah had been in the works.

But while the storyline about a courtesan and her forbidden love may be out of date now, the movie’s main message about love and wanting to be accepted for who you are is timeless. Pakeezah also helps because it is beautifully made. Meena Kumari herself designed the beautiful costumes, and the sets and music are also lovely.

Significantly more than its plot

The movie opens with Nargis (Meena Kumari), a courtesan who lives in a kotha operated by her sister Nawabjaan (Veena Sapru), having ran away with her boyfriend, Shahabuddin (Ashok Kumar) (Ashok Kumar). But his father, Hakim Saab (D.K. Sapru), would not tolerate the arrival of a tawaif into their respectable household, and as he berates his son and insults Nargis, she flees and seeks sanctuary in a cemetery. Shahabuddin tries everywhere but is unable to locate her, while she lives out the remainder of her days in the graveyard and gives birth to their daughter.

She passes away shortly thereafter, but not before writing a note to Shahabuddin. However, the letter does not reach him until 17 years later, by which time Nawabjaan had arrived and taken the child with her.

Years later, Nargis’s daughter, Sahibjaan (also portrayed by Meena Kumari), is the centre of attention at the kotha as she sings Inhi Logon Ne Le Liya Dupatta Mera, courtesans in mujras whirling in the background. Shahabuddin attempts to meet her, but Nawabjaan deflects him and instructs him to return the next day. When he does, she has taken Sahibjaan to a different city because she doesn’t want to give her up, whether out of filial love or for financial gain.

While Sahibjaan is sleeping on the train, Salim (Raaj Kumar), a young forest officer, enters her cabin. He falls instantly in love with her sleeping figure (or, well, with her feet) and writes her a message to this effect. His few words become her lifeline over the following several days, as she, too, falls in love with him. She is unaware of who he is, but fate leads her directly to his tent, where she discovers he is the man she has been dreaming about.

However, history has a tendency of repeating itself, and it turns out that Salim is the nephew of Shahabuddin and the grandson of Hakim Saab. Once more, Hakim Saab attempts to exert his arrogant control. Before a resolution is reached, high drama and tragedy occur.

But to be honest, the storyline is rarely the focus of Pakeezah. The film is significantly more than its convoluted storyline, and this has as much to do with its emotional depth as with its extraordinary production history.

How Pakeezah was made could be its own movie.

Kamal Amrohi, who was also married to rising star Meena Kumari, wanted to make a movie that would do her justice. In his book Pakeezah: An Ode to a Bygone World, Meghnad Desai says that he had the idea for Pakeezah ready in the mid-1950s and that the film’s muhurat was set for January 1957. However, he spent the next few years looking for locations, choosing a lead actor, writing and rewriting different parts of the film, and doing many other things.

By 1964, the movie still hadn’t been made, but Meena Kumari was a big star thanks to movies like Kohinoor (1960) and Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam (1962), among many others. That was also the year that she and Kamal Amrohi broke up, which set back their already very late dream production even more. During the next five years, she got very sick and struggled with alcoholism. As a result, her career graph slowed down.

Josef Wirsching, the film’s cinematographer, died in 1967, and about a dozen other people helped out when they had time between other projects. Shooting was very hard because colour technologies like CinemaScope, Eastman, and Technicolor were now in use, and it was very hard to keep the same look and feel without the cinematographer who had worked on the movie from the beginning.

The next year, Ghulam Mohammed, who was in charge of the music for Pakeezah, also died. He left behind a beautiful soundtrack with songs like “Chalte Chalte,” “Thaade Rahiyo,” and “Mausam Hai Aashiqana,” but an unfinished score. Then Naushad came in to finish the background music and title music.

Meena Kumari didn’t get better from her illness until 1969. She was weak, but she was still determined to finish filming. She was also very kind, and her ex-husband only gave her a small amount of money for her work.

Meena Kumari died on March 31, 1972, a little more than a month after this masterpiece finally came out. Not only did her death bring more people to the theatre, but it also made her famous as Pakeezah.
