National Police Memorial in Delhi
PM Modi asked all the dignitaries at the 90th Interpol General Assembly in Pragati Maidan to visit the National Police Memorial and the National War Memorial in New Delhi to honour the heroes who died to keep India safe.
Last year, Interpol’s 90th General Assembly was held in New Delhi from October 18 to 21. Delegations from 195 member countries, including Ministers, heads of police and intelligence services, heads of national central bureaus, and senior police officers, were there.
PM Modi also said that he hoped the 90th Interpol General Assembly would be a place where crime, corruption, and terrorism could be dealt with in a good way. “Let communication, collaboration, and working together beat crime, corruption, and terrorism,” the Prime Minister said as he ended his speech.

The Prime Minister talked about how bad transnational terrorism is and said that India has been fighting it for decades, even before the rest of the world knew what it was. “We knew what it cost to be safe and sound. “In this fight, thousands of our people gave their lives,” Modi said.
On Police Commemoration Day (October 21, 2018), Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the National Police Memorial to the whole country. The Memorial gives the Police Forces a sense of national identity, pride, unity of purpose, and a shared history and future.
Every year, a day called “Police Commemoration Day” is set aside to remember the brave Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) members who died in an ambush by heavily armed Chinese troops in Hot Springs, Ladakh, on October 21, 1959, while on patrol duty.
In 1992, the Ministry of Home Affairs agreed to build a National Police Memorial in Delhi to honour the police officers who gave their lives in the line of duty to protect the country.

A Central Sculpture, the Wall of Valor, and an underground Museum are all parts of the Memorial. As you walk up to the site, the flower-covered ramparts and two large flower-covered bowls placed in a symmetrical way show that the spirit of the Police martyrs will never die and that they were very dedicated.
