“We apologize for the inconvenience the flight cancellations have caused. A complete refund will be issued to the original payment method. We understand that flight cancellations may have disrupted your travel plans, and we are devoted to assisting you in any way possible,” the airline stated.

Go First announced on Thursday that it would suspend flights until May 9th. In response, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation requested that the airline reimburse the affected passengers.

The aviation regulator had said in a statement, “Go First has informed us that they have suspended sales of their flights until May 15, 2023, and are working to refund or reschedule for future dates, passengers who have already booked flights with them.” The airline had already informed the DGCA that ticket sales would be suspended until May 15.

The airline filed for voluntary insolvency with the National Company Law Tribunal on Tuesday. Due to defective engines supplied by Pratt & Whitney, the company stated that it had to halt half of its fleet. Due to the suspension of approximately fifty percent of its A320neo fleet, the company reported a revenue loss of 10,800 crore.

The NCLT will hear two petitions for insolvency proceedings against the airline on Monday. Go First confronts 11,463 crore in liabilities and a financial crunch. PTI reported that after hearing SS Associates Services Pvt Ltd’s claim for 3 crore, the tribunal withheld its decision.

Additionally, a pilot has filed a petition seeking compensation for his services rendered to the airline. The quantity involved exceeds 1,000,000. The two petitions are scheduled to be considered by the NCLT’s main bench.
