Arati Prabhakar, the Science Advisor to President Joe Biden, stated on Friday that the US and like-minded nations, including India, must collaborate to shape the future of artificial intelligence, as the administration enlisted several IT giants such as Google and Microsoft to ensure that it is not misused and is used for the public good.

“The work that we are doing includes working with corporations to hold them accountable, and significant progress has been made today in this regard. In an interview with PTI, Indian-American Prabhakar said, “We’re also working on executive actions that we can take within existing law, and the President is mulling over an executive order that we believe can significantly enhance our ability to deal with AI’s harms and start using it for good.”

“This is what the executive branch can do. We will also continue to collaborate with Congress on bipartisan legislation as they begin to introduce legislation. Then, critically and supporting all of this is the work we’re doing globally with our international partners and allies, including India,” Prabhakar stated.

“What I would say is to create amazing applications for artificial intelligence because that’s part of how we’re going to move forward, and while you’re doing that, create AI that is safe and trustworthy so that it ultimately helps us,” she said.

On Friday, Vice President Biden announced voluntary commitments that the administration negotiated with seven prominent AI companies. These companies include Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, as well as some of the lesser artificial intelligence companies. A number of tech companies, including some of the largest leaders in AI, are committing to safety, security, and trust.

How can it be used to enhance health outcomes for all Americans and people around the world? China On America: A top Chinese diplomat says that the Asia-Pacific region is not enough to contain China, so the US has created the “India Pacific” concept with the aim of including India and its other allies.

The Indo-Pacific is a biogeographic region that includes the Indian Ocean, including the South China Sea, and the western and central Pacific Ocean. The US, India and several other world powers have been talking about the need to ensure a free, open and prosperous Indo-Pacific in the backdrop of China’s increasing military activities in the resource-rich region.

‘There is no such concept as Indo-Pacific’

During a conversation with the media on December 7 (Wednesday), Chinese Ambassador to France Lu Shaye said, “America conceptualized the Indo-Pacific to control China. In fact, there is no such concept as ‘Indo-Pacific’ in geopolitics.

Quoting Lu, known as China’s ‘wolf warrior’ diplomat, the website of the Chinese Embassy in France said, “In the past we used to talk about the Pacific or the Asia-Pacific region, about the ‘Indo-Pacific’ never.” ‘Wolf warrior’ diplomacy is all about confrontation and sticking to one’s point of view, whose proponents openly oppose any perceived criticism of the Chinese government.

Lu Shaye said, “Why did the Americans include the Indian Ocean? Because they believe that their Asia-Pacific allies alone are not enough to contain China, they want to bring in other allies of the US, such as India and France, who consider themselves Indo-Pacific countries. Announced, but many hurdles too

Trump’s Republican Party is leading here. They have 216 seats, while 218 are needed for a majority. At the same time, the Democratic Party has been able to win only 205 seats.
