										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Saturday, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju referred to the collegium issue as a &#8220;mindgame&#8221; and stated that he will not discuss it.</p>
<p>When queried about the various Supreme Court Collegium recommendations pending before the government, including those regarding the appointment of high court chief justices, he made these remarks.</p>

<p>&#8220;The Collegium issue is a contest of wits. &#8220;I am not going to discuss it,&#8221; he stated.</p>
<p>Rijiju was speaking on the sidelines of an occasion in Arunachal Pradesh to dedicate 254 mobile towers for 4G service.</p>
<h2>He stated that the paucity of infrastructure facilities in border regions with difficult terrain was a significant problem for the locals.<br />

<p>Kiren Rijiju and Tapir Gao are the Lok Sabha representatives for Arunachal Pradesh.</p>
<p>Rijiju has been very vocal in his opposition to the Collegium system, and has even referred to it as &#8220;alien to our Constitution&#8221;</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Thursday, April 20, the governments of Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to resolve the long-standing border dispute between the two states in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi.</p>
<p>Wednesday,the Assam cabinet endorsed the recommendations made by the state&#8217;s 12 Regional Committees to resolve the decades long border dispute with Arunachal Pradesh.</p>
<p>During the state cabinet meeting conducted in Guwahati under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the decision was made.</p>
<p>Assam Minister Ashok Singhal announced the cabinet decisions and stated that the long-standing border dispute between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh will be resolved.</p>
<p>The state cabinet also sanctioned an investment of Rs 8,201.29 crore for eight mega projects in the state, and memorandums of understanding will be signed on May 9.</p>
<p>Approximately 6,100 people will be directly employed as a result of these initiatives.</p>
<p>The state cabinet also sanctioned giving 301 Loktantra Senani from the 1975 Emergency a monthly pension of Rs 15,000.</p>
<p>On the other hand, the state cabinet sanctioned a joint venture company for city gas service between Oil India Limited and Assam Gas Company (51% share).</p>
<p>Earlier in March 2022, the administrations of Assam and Meghalaya signed a historic agreement in the nation&#8217;s capital to settle their 50-year-old border dispute.</p>
<p>Assam and Meghalaya signed the agreement two months after their respective chief ministers submitted a draft resolution to Amit Shah on January 31 for examination and consideration by the MHA.</p>

<p>The governments of Assam and Meghalaya drafted a resolution to settle their border disputes in six of the twelve &#8220;areas of difference&#8221; along the frontier.</p>
