Locals say the blast happened at around 3 in the afternoon, and that three workers were killed instantly. The injured were given timely medical attention by being admitted to the hospital. Lakesh Kumar Gayakwad (age 21), Shatruhan Lal Verma (age 27), and Umesh Kumar Verma (age 26), all temporary workers from Chhattisgarh, have been confirmed as the victims of this tragic industrial tragedy.

Superintendent of Police Dipak Jha in Balodabazar has confirmed the deaths. The leakage of a cylinder caused the explosion, according to a senior official at the Ultratech Plant who wished to remain unnamed.According to the district administration, the report on industrial safety investigations will reveal the true reason for the blast. After the explosion, employees went on strike, saying that proper safety requirements had not been met with regard to temporary labour. They are asking for adequate compensation for the victims’ relatives.

We are still waiting for  Management’s official statement on the cylinder explosion. Balodabazar police have said that the explosion’s cause has not been determined, but that they are looking into it.
