Prince Harry is “concerned that, due to the unlawful actions of Associated, he was deprived of significant aspects of his teenage years.”

“In particular, suspicion and paranoia were caused by  publication of the illegal articles: friends were lost or severed, and everyone became a’suspect’ because he was misled by the way the articles were written into believing that those close to him were the source of the information provided to  newspapers,” he continued.

“The claimant views  unlawful acts as a major betrayal in light of the media’s pledges to improve their behavior following the tragic and untimely death of his mother, Princess Diana, in 1997,” according to court documents.

Prince Harry is also suing Associated Newspapers for defamation over a Mail article, claiming that the article’s claim that he lied in his initial statements regarding the security lawsuit constitutes libel.

“They are also mortified that all of their conversations, some of which were extremely private, were tapped, recorded, packaged, and sold as a commercial product for journalists and unknown third parties to sift through,” according to court documents.
