CSK vs GT Final: Ravindra Jadeja struck a four off the final delivery to help Chennai Super Kings tie the record for most IPL titles held by Mumbai Indians. Sai Sudharsan’s 96 off only 47 deliveries propelled Gujarat Titans to a score of 214/4. In his innings, the 23-year-old from Chennai hit eight fours and six sixes, capitalizing on the final overs.

On the same day that Wriddhiman Saha scored 54 off 39, his prolific opening companion Shubman Gill was limited to 39 off 20. Throughout the GT innings, only moderate rain fell, but it did not result in any interruptions. Eventually, the CSK innings was halted after the third delivery of the first over, as heavy rain poured down at the stadium. While the rain did not last long, it was the wet outfield, particularly a problematic practice pitch near the square’s perimeter, that caused the greatest delay.

Eventually, the match was shortened to 15 overs, and CSK’s target was lowered to 171. Since the match eventually resumed, it has been a back-and-forth affair. Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Shivam Dube, and Ambati Rayudu made significant contributions to CSK’s victory, but Mohit Sharma provided crucial wickets whenever it appeared that the opposition was racing away with the game. Mohit also bowled the final over, reducing CSK’s victory requirement to 10 runs off the final two deliveries. But Ravindra Jadeja ultimately hit the second-to-last ball for six and the final ball for four to guide CSK to their fifth championship.

CSK VS GT FINAL: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will play in the highly anticipated final of the Indian Premier League 2023 on May 28 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It will be the third meeting between the two teams this season. GT has won three of the four IPL meetings between the two teams to date, including the league stage match earlier this season. In their most recent meeting, however, CSK emerged victorious.

CSK secured a spot in the final by defeating GT in the first qualifying match. Batting first after losing the toss, they achieved 172 runs in 20 overs while losing seven wickets. Both openers, Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad, maintained their excellent form throughout the season by combining for 87 runs for the first wicket.

In response, GT scored only 157 runs and lost by 15 runs. Shubman Gill scored the most runs for GT with 42 runs off 38 deliveries, but no other batsman was able to remain at the crease for an extended period of time. Rashid Khan scored 30 runs off of 16 deliveries, but it was insufficient.

Friday, in the second qualifying match against Mumbai Indians, GT batted first after losing the toss. Shubman Gill achieved his third century of the season to surpass Faf du Plessis as the tournament’s leading run scorer. He scored 129 runs at a phenomenal strike rate of 215 and helped GT score 233 runs while losing three wickets. MI lost three wickets during the PowerPlay in their reply. Tilak Varma, Cameron Green, and Suryakumar Yadav, however, supplied stability to the innings. After Suryakumar was dismissed in the fifteenth over, the other batsmen were helpless. MI were dismissed for 171 runs in 18.2 overs, resulting in a loss by 62 runs.

CSK VS GT FINAL: PITCH REPORT

Recent games at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad have featured high-scoring contests, with teams amassing impressive totals. In general, the pitch has favored batters, enabling them to score freely after settling in. However, variations in velocity and spin have proven indispensable for bowlers in controlling the run rate. The team that wins the coin flip will likely choose to bat first and establish a commanding score.
