The senior BJP leader, who had previously proclaimed his intention to leave electoral politics, stated that CT Ravi is a “good leader” but that a decision on the CM face is outside of his purview.

He added that he lacks the authority to choose the party’s candidate for prime minister.

“CT Ravi is an effective administrator. He is doing very excellent work in Chikkamagaluru. I made no mention of him becoming the next chief minister. Tuesday, Eshwarappa told media over the phone, “I have no authority to make such a statement.”

However, he stated that CT Ravi, as a prominent leader from the Vokkaliga community, possesses all the qualifications to become the state’s prospective chief minister.

Eshwapappa reportedly told party workers at a meeting in Nidughatta, close to Chikkamagaluru, that he anticipated CT Ravi would be elected MLA by a large margin and become the chief minister.

The alleged remark was made one day after CT Ravi expressed his desire to become the chief minister.

Eshwarappa stated on Monday that the BJP does not want a solitary vote from the Shivamogga Muslim community in the upcoming Karnataka elections.

Eshwarappa stated at a Veerashaiva-Lingayat meeting in Shivamogga, “We do not want a single Muslim vote here.” However, nationalist Muslims will vote for the BJP.”

Elections for the Karnataka Assembly will be conducted in a single phase on May 10, with vote counting scheduled for May 13.
