The statement announced the resolution of the seventh and final outstanding World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute between the two countries.

“The leaders hailed the settlement of India and the United States’ seventh and final ongoing World Trade Organization (WTO) dispute. This follows the historic resolution of six pending bilateral trade disputes at the World Trade Organization in June 2023.

After a private meeting with US Vice President Joe Biden and US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, PM Modi made this public statement.

This modification also solves the lone problem with the poultry case. A long-running dispute between India and the United States over chicken imports was finally resolved in 2015, with India losing. The United States had requested trade sanctions against India for violating the WTO’s order, and India had 12 months to comply.

There will be no disagreements between India and the United States before the end of the year. Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal said during a press conference on June 26 that “all the six major ones have already been resolved.”

Delhi as a whole is open. Only a little portion of NDMC will be restricted. The fact that limitations are only in place in a limited section of the NDMC is emphasized once more.
Delhi Police had said on Monday that during the G20 Summit, all online delivery services in the New Delhi district will be closed, with the exception of medication delivery services.

“In all of Delhi, path labs would be permitted to take samples for essential services like postal and medical services. There will be no commercial activity permitted in the New Delhi region. “Medicine delivery will be permitted, but online delivery services will not be permitted,” Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) SS Yadav declared on Monday.

From May 23 to 25, the second meeting of the G-20 Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group will be conducted in Mumbai.

More than 120 members will attend this meeting, and representatives of the Working Group will also visit the BMC headquarters, according to this official statement.

This visit will include a tour of the control center of the Department of Disaster Management and a tour of the historic municipal building.

Iqbal Singh Chahal, the commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), conducted a meeting on Tuesday at the BMC’s headquarters in Mumbai to review the preparations being made by the BMC and other agencies.

The statement noted that Mumbai’s work in disaster management over the past few years has been recognized not only at the national level but also on a global scale.

The upcoming meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction Working Group of the G-20 Council is a chance to showcase this accomplishment to the world.

Keeping this in mind, the BMC Commissioner instructed all agencies, including the BMC, to maintain appropriate coordination and complete all outstanding works within the prescribed timeframe.

In light of this, the BMC Commissioner emphasized that the ongoing renovations to the BMC Headquarters building must be completed on schedule.

In addition, he directed that all work be completed in close coordination with all other stakeholder organizations.

In the month of May, a total of three Working Group Meetings of the G-20 Council will be conducted in Mumbai.

In light of this, the BMC Commissioner stated that the departments responsible for completing the works of roads, sanitation, and beautification, etc. that fall under their jurisdiction should do so in a timely manner and also bear in mind the experience that dignitaries had during previous G-20 meetings held in the city.
