The government possesses a 75.15 percent stake in the public sector aerospace and defence company, as indicated by the shareholding structure. The company’s current market capitalization is Rs 87,800 crore. In accordance with Securities and Exchange Board of India listing requirements, the company is undertaking the offer for sale in order to achieve the minimum public shareholding required for listing.

As part of its disinvestment program, the government sold a 15% stake in Hindustan Aeronautics (HAL) in 2020, and investors responded positively to the Rs 5,000 crore offer for sale (OFS).

According to the filing with the stock exchange, the government intends to sell 1.75 percent of its equity shares on March 23 and 24 and an additional 1.75 percent stake if the oversubscription option is exercised.

Subject to the receipt of valid offers, 10% of the offer size shall be reserved for retail investors. Individual investors who submit bids for shares with a total value of less than Rs 2,000,000 are considered retail investors. The sale of state-owned companies is a crucial revenue-raising strategy that enables the government to invest in infrastructure development.

To date, the government has collected Rs 31,100 crore by selling its shares in state-owned companies, surpassing its goal of Rs 500 crore for the fiscal year ending on March 31. WHAT IS HTT-40?

The HTT-40 is a turboprop aircraft designed for improved training effectiveness and low-speed manoeuvrability. It possesses a fully aerobatic tandem seat turbo trainer with an air-conditioned cockpit, contemporary avionics, hot refuelling, running change over, and zero-zero ejection seats.

Through the indigenisation of major components and subsystems, the indigenous content of the HTT-40 would increase to over 60 percent. The HAL’s supply chain would include Indian private industry, including MSMEs.

It is anticipated that procurement will generate direct employment for approximately 1,500 individuals and indirect employment for up to 3,000 individuals across more than 100 MSMEs.

Indian Airforce successfully test fired BrahMos air launched missile in the Bay of Bengal. It can target targets up to 400 km away. The Air Force said in its official statement – This missile has been tested from Sukhoi Su-30 fighter aircraft.The Defense Department said that during the test, the missile hit the target ship in the middle. It is the anti-ship version of the air-launched version of the missile.

• Cruise missiles are smaller in size than ballistic missiles and carry lighter warheads. Cruise missiles are used for both conventional and nuclear warheads.

Indian missiles fell in Pakistan

On March 9, an Indian missile fell 124 kilometers inside Pakistan near its city Channu Miyan. India says that this happened due to a technical glitch. On the other hand, Pakistan claims that it was a supersonic missile without weapons.

Pakistani military spokesman Major General Babar Iftikar said in his statement, a high-speed flying object crashed near its city Mian Channu. This object crashed at an altitude of 40 thousand feet and after flying 124 kilometers inside Pakistani airspace at Mach 3 speed.
