Violence resumed in Jerusalem for a second consecutive night on Wednesday, when Palestinian worshippers barricaded themselves inside the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Old City’s sensitive compound and Israeli police used force to remove scores of worshippers.

The unrest was less severe than the night before. The situation remained volatile as Muslims observed the sacred month of Ramadan and Jews began the week-long Passover celebration.
