Karnataka BJP MLA resigns from KSDL chairman: Karnataka BJP MLA Madal Virupakshappa resigned as chairman of Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited, the maker of Mysore Sandal Soap, under pressure from Lokayukta’s anti-corruption wing.

Madal Virupakshappa is under fire after his son was captured accepting a bribe of Rs 40 lakh, and Lokayukta officials recovered Rs 6 crore in cash from his residence.Virupakshappa, the Davanagere district MLA from Channagiri, is the chairperson of the state-owned Karnataka Soaps and Detergents Limited. His son is the principal accountant at the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB).

Prashanth Madal was captured accepting a bribe of Rs 40 lakh at the KSDL office on Thursday. He was taken into custody. Consequently, the anti-corruption watchdog of the Karnataka government conducted inspections at Virupakshappa’s residence and offices.

“Ugly stench of Corruption” of #40PercentSarkara has soiled the beautiful scent of “Mysore Sandal Soap” also.

1st, the KSDL Chairman-BJP MLA Virupakshappa’s son is caught taking ₹40 Lakh bribe & within 24 hours, ₹6,00,00,000 recovered from house.

The Lokayukta discovered a large amount of cash at the domicile of the BJP MLA. Rs 1.7 crore was seized from the KSDL office, while Rs 6 crore was recovered from Virupakshappa’s residence. It is probable that the anti-corruption watchdog will also summon the MLA for questioning.

In his resignation letter, Madal Virupakshappa denied the charges against him. “I am unaffiliated with the Lokayukta invasion. This is a plot against me and my loved ones.”According to Lokayukta officials, a complaint accusing Prashanth of accepting bribery was filed against him on Thursday morning. In response, Lokayukta officials sprung a trap and captured Prashanth in the act of accepting a Rs 40 lakh bribe.

A Lokayukta official stated, “During investigations of his office, we discovered Rs 1.7 crore.” We suspect that Prashanth accepted bribes on his father’s behalf. We are conducting an investigation into the origin of the money discovered in his office.”The opposition Congress launched a withering attack against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after the matter came to light.

“Unpleasant odour of Corruption of 40%”,Additionally, Sarkara has tainted the exquisite aroma of Mysore Sandal Soap. First, the son of KSDL Chairman and BJP MLA Virupakshappa is discovered taking a 140 Lakh bribe, and within twenty-four hours, 16,00,00,000 is recovered from his home,’ tweeted Congress leader Randeep Surjewala.
