Liquor Policy Case: K Kavitha, leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, will be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate in the Delhi liquor policy case this morning. Manish Sisodia was detained in connection with the same case.

Thursday, Ms. Kavitha was scheduled to meet with the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The central agency consented to her request to postpone her questioning until today, citing her planned hunger strike in Delhi on Friday to demand the introduction of the Women’s Reservation Bill.

Manish Sisodia, leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, is already in ED custody. He was also detained by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for alleged corruption in the drafting of Delhi’s new liquor policy, which was subsequently rescinded.

An important emphasis of the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy case is an alleged network of middlemen, businesspeople, and politicians that the central agencies have dubbed “South Group.”

The Enforcement Directorate alleged that Mr. Sisodia modified the liquor policy without consultation in order to benefit the “South Group” companies.

Ms. Kavitha is one of the “South Group” members operating under the radar. Her father, K Chandrasekhar Rao, also known as KCR, is a prominent central opposition leader. This has resulted in accusations that the BJP-led central government is using central agencies to harass opposition leaders with fraudulent cases.

“In India, there is no distinction between summonses issued by the Enforcement Directorate and those issued by (Narendra) Modi… Whenever there is an election, it is customary for the Enforcement Directorate to arrive prior to 5:00 p.m. What options do opponents have? Go to the court of the people or the Supreme Court “Friday, Ms. Kavitha told .

Her brother, Telangana minister KT Rama Rao, arrived in Delhi the day prior to his sister’s interrogation by the ED.

KCR told party leaders yesterday that they will fight to halt the harassment by the rival BJP using central agencies, according to the PTI. KCR stated, “Our struggle will persist until the BJP is ousted from power in the country.”

Ms. Kavitha, 44, stated that the BJP is attempting to “intimidate my leader,” referring to her father KCR, who is seeking a third consecutive term in power in the state, where assembly elections are scheduled to take place in a few months.

Yesterday, at the court hearing for Mr. Sisodia’s case in Delhi, his attorney criticised the ED for considering arrest as a privilege without following legal procedure. “It has become fashionable for agencies to view arrests as their inherent right. The time has arrived for the courts to severely punish this sense of entitlement “Mr Sisodia’s lawyer Dayan Krishna said.

Across India against Sisodia’s arrest in liquor policy case

On Monday, the Aam Aadmi Party will protest all over the country against the arrest of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor excise policy case. They will take to the streets and hold rallies in many cities.

Sandeep Pathak, who is the national general secretary of the AAP, said that protests will happen all over the country on Monday.

Pathak said on Twitter on Sunday, “Manish Sisodia, the country’s great Education Minister, who has helped shape the futures of millions of children, has been arrested in a fake case. The Aam Aadmi Party will protest against this all over the country tomorrow.”

Monday at 12 p.m., the party will also protest at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s headquarters on Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg in the national capital.

People think that the party will also hold protests in Gandhinagar, Gujarat; Rohtak, Haryana; Noida, India; etc.

After eight hours of questioning in the now-closed excise policy case, the Central Bureau of Investigation arrested Sisodia.

Shortly before going to the CBI office to be questioned, the Deputy Chief Minister said that false cases were being filed against party leaders because Prime Minister Narendra Modi was “afraid” of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

“The CBI and ED are plotting against our party leaders and filing false cases against them because PM Narendra Modi is afraid of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s growing popularity. As AAP grows, BJP will keep making up charges against us. We don’t worry about the CBI, the ED, or their fake cases “Sisodia said that people were beginning to see the AAP as a different option to the BJP.

Before he was arrested, Sisodia also went to the memorial for Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat.

In response to this news, his political aide and the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, called the arrest “dirty politics” and said that he is innocent.

Taking to Twitter, Kejriwal said, “Manish is not guilty. Putting him in jail is dirty politics. People are very angry that Manish was taken into custody.”

“The whole world is looking. People can figure out everything. This will make people react. This will make us feel even better. Our struggle will get stronger, “In the tweet, he said: (roughly translated from Hindi).

Delhi liquor policy case:Thursday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned the personal assistant (PA) of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Bibhav Kumar, and AAP leader Jasmine Shah in connection with an investigation into alleged money laundering in the Delhi government’s liquor policy.

According to sources, Bibhav was summoned for questioning after the investigation agency learned that he had attended multiple meetings regarding liquor policy, and Jasmine was summoned because he was involved in drafting the excise policy guidelines.

The ED case was opened on the basis of a CBI First Information Report (FIR) lodged the previous year. Among the 15 defendants named in the CBI’s First Information Report were Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, three personnel from the excise department, and a number of vendors and distributors (FIR).

“The Director of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Praveen Kumar Rai, has communicated the directives of the competent authority for the Central Bureau of Investigation to investigate irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy of GNCTD of Delhi for the year 2021-22. In addition, he forwarded a letter from L-G Vinai Kumar Saxena alleging irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the excise policy, according to the FIR.

It is stated that, in addition to Sisodia, then-excise commissioner Arava Gopi Krishna, former deputy excise commissioner Anand Tiwari, and assistant excise commissioner Pankaj Bhatnagar were instrumental in recommending and taking decisions regarding excise policy for the year 2021-22 without the approval of a competent authority in order to extend undue favours to the licensees post-tender.

In this matter, the CBI has already lodged a charge sheet. According to the source, they are in the process of filing a supplementary charge sheet in this matter, and as such, they wished to acquire additional evidence to strengthen the case.
