Although there are over 20,000 Indians living in Israel, Israel’s Consul General in Mumbai Kobbi Shoshani stated that he was unaware of any Indian nationals being hurt or killed in the recent fighting between Israeli forces and Hamas militants. Hamas is responsible for the most of the violence in the region. On Tuesday, he told PTI that airline operations between India and Israel had been suspended, and that the Ministry of External Affairs was attempting to bring back Indians who had become stuck in his country as a result.

“We do not know about any deaths or injuries that occurred to Indian civilians while they were staying in Israel,” the spokesperson said. In the event that we learn more about any particular situation, I will take action myself. More than 20,000 people of Indian descent currently reside in the country of Israel. Shoshani stated that he was unaware of the precise number of Indians that were stranded in Israel.

Tuesday afternoon, according to defence officials, three IAF C-17 Globemaster aircraft — two carrying NDRF personnel and one carrying an Army medical team — departed for Turkey.

A C-17 Globemaster carrying an additional Army medical team and a C-130 transport aircraft carrying medical supplies both departed for Damascus, Syria in the evening.

The Army said in a statement that the 60 Para Field Hospital in Agra has dispatched a 99-member medical team. “The medical team consists of critical care specialist teams, such as the orthopaedic surgical team, the general surgical specialist team, and the medical specialist teams in addition to other medical teams,” it stated.

It is stated that the teams are outfitted with X-ray machines, ventilators, an oxygen generation plant, cardiac monitors, and other equipment in order to establish a 30-bed medical facility.

Two teams consisting of 101 personnel and a four-member canine squad have been dispatched to assist with rescue operations, according to the NDRF. The NDRF has maintained two additional teams on standby.

“We’ve dispatched two teams, four dogs, four-wheeled vehicles, chipping hammers, cutting tools, first-aid supplies, and a communications system. Our first team, which included five female personnel, departed for Turkey aboard an IAF aircraft at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, according to NDRF Director General Atul Karwal.

“Each team consists of five female rescuers, a physician, and paramedics. Mohsen Shahidi, DIG (Operations) of the NDRF, stated, “We have also sent vehicles, especially light vehicles, with both teams.”

“Each member of the team has been trained to handle such situations. This is not the first time the NDRF has travelled abroad.

.Jaishankar’s allusion to the Pandavas as “senior diplomats from Pakistan”

China and Pakistan were mentioned when Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar hosted a discussion on international and domestic problems on Saturday as he released the Marathi version of his book, “The India Way.” He answered a question on strategy by saying that Lord Krishna and Hanuman were the “greatest diplomats.” “This remark is being made in complete sincerity. They were all-purpose diplomats if you look at it from a strategic and intelligence perspective “Jaishankar proclaimed.

The minister added that an analogy from the Hindu epic Mahabharata might be given for each of the top ten global strategic principles. “On the battlefield at the time, Bharat was multipolar. The fact that Arjuna was emotionally interdependent was a concern.” Additionally, he made a comparison between Lord Krishna’s plan and relations with Pakistan. “Today, we assert that we must exhibit deliberate patience. The clearest example in this regard may have been how Lord Krishna dealt with Shishupal; he pardoned him 100 times, and you know what happened afterwards “.

He emphasised that in the grand scheme of things, the Mahabharata has similar laws and bounds that nations should abide by. “The ratio between the Pandavas and the Kauravas was 7:11, although intelligence and stratagem varied. In these circumstances, reputation is immensely valuable. Sometimes tactical changes and strategic deceptions are required for the greater good. The words “Trojan Horse” and “Achille’s heel” are quite formal. I don’t mind how words are used, but if we’re going to comprehend Indian strategic culture, we need to return to our own stories.”

In response to a different query, he stated that, like the Pandavas, India could not choose its neighbours. If a “rogue nation could be a liability or an asset,” he was questioned. He said, “Yes,” to that: “For us, it is reality. You are given what you are in life. Just like we cannot choose our neighbours, the Pandavas could not choose their relatives. Naturally, we hope that common sense wins out.”

He also criticised the opposition for misrepresenting China in their propaganda. “I am unable to explain why the opposition leaders act in this way to mask their lack of confidence. But it is political, yes. They intentionally do it. They will not admit that China invaded our borders in 1962; instead, they portray it as having occurred recently “Jaishankar made the comment as a subtle jab at Rahul Gandhi of the Congress, who has recently stepped up his criticism of the administration. The grand old party has previously been under fire from the BJP during the conflict of 1962. “People occasionally complain that we don’t do enough thought leadership. But even then, it requires introspection; yes, it might have to do with confidence “explained he.

S. Jaishankar, the foreign minister, spoke on nationalism and international relations while he was in Pune on Saturday for the launch of the Marathi version of his book, “The India Way.” He also touched on a number of other topics during his interaction. Jaishankar stated in response to a query regarding diplomatic efforts: “What happens is that often throughout the globe, this causes a lot of confusion about India.” He was questioned about whether other countries might adopt the same strategy of pursuing both nationalism and internationalism.

Jaishankar clarified further in his response: “You see, in our nation, one of us may smugly declare, “I am a patriot.” People might be reluctant to express this in some other nations because it might be viewed negatively. Nationalism and internationalism are often at odds with one another. However, we distributed vaccines in our own country. Didn’t we all feel good when we read that others had congratulated us for this?” He was followed by a brief round of applause. S Jaishankar has received appreciation in the past for his incisive observations on international issues.

“Being nationalistic does not require apology. The same individuals have completed more projects abroad and have provided more assistance. In the wake of disasters, they have advanced. However, foreign publications frequently use terms like “Hindu nationalists.” They won’t use terms like Christian nationalist or Europe. These terms are reserved specifically for us. So the next time you see this, simply notice how incorrectly they are interpreting it. This nation is engaging with the globe more, not less “Additionally, the foreign minister stated.

also read this:India and China are in many ways superior to the United States and EU members: Russian FM Sergei Lavrov

Jaishankar further emphasised that India wishes to allow the world to witness the “good feelings” at all 200 G20 sessions as soon as it assumes the leadership.

Devendra Fadnavis, the deputy chief minister of Maharashtra, presented the Marathi edition of the author’s book. The Foreign Minister stated that India has the potential to lead the globe in his speech before taking questions.

The controversy over the BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi is increasing. The Ministry of External Affairs of India has also given its response on this. At the same time, in Britain also the issue of this documentary has been raised in the Parliament there. British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak also reacted after the Pakistani-origin MP raised the issue here on Thursday.

Let us know what is there in this documentary, which is being disputed? Why was it released now? Where did the controversy start? What does India have to say? What happened on this in the UK Parliament?

What is in the documentary that is being disputed?

British broadcaster BBC has created a new two-part series titled India: The Modi Question. Its first part has been released on Tuesday. In this series, the political journey of PM Modi’s initial phase has been talked about. At the same time, his association with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, his rising stature in the BJP and his appointment as the Chief Minister of Gujarat have also been discussed in it. It also mentions the riots in Gujarat when Modi was the Chief Minister. This part talks about PM Modi’s alleged role in the Gujarat riots. There is a dispute regarding this.

Where did the controversy start?

It was released on BBC Two on 17 January. Controversy started as soon as the series arrived. Its protest started on social media in Britain. People objected to this and said that BBC should also make a series on the Bengal famine of 1943. In which more than 30 lakh people died due to starvation and disease. One Twitter user wrote that the BBC should also make a series titled UK: The Churchill Question. Seeing the growing controversy, a day later, on Wednesday, the BBC removed the series from YouTube.
The matter reached the British Parliament on Thursday. Here Pakistan origin MP Imran Hussain raised the issue of BBC series. At the same time, there was a response from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs as well.

What did the Indian Ministry of External Affairs say on the series?

Regarding the documentary released by BBC, Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said that we think it is part of a propaganda. It has no objectivity. Describing it as biased, he said that ‘note that it has not been displayed in India’.
The Ministry of External Affairs has said that we think this is a propaganda material, designed to push a particular story. The bias, lack of objectivity and colonial mindset are clearly visible in this. He said that this film or documentary is a reflection of the agency and individuals who are spreading this story again
Referring to the comments made by former UK Secretary of State Jack Straw in the documentary series, Bagchi said that he (Jack Straw) seems to be referring to some internal UK report. How can I reach there? This is a 20 year old report.

What happened on this in the UK Parliament?

On Thursday, Pakistan-origin Labor Party MP Imran Hussain raised the issue in the UK Parliament. After this, British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak defended his counterpart Narendra Modi. He said that he does not agree with the characterization of his Indian counterpart. He said the UK government’s position on this has been clear and long-standing and has not changed. Further, Sunak said, ‘Of course we do not tolerate harassment, wherever it may be, but I do not agree at all with the characterization that has been put forward about Narendra Modi.’

British MP accuses BBC of biased reporting

Earlier, Lord Rami Ranger, a member of Britain’s House of Lords, targeted the BBC in his tweet on Wednesday. The British MP accused the BBC of biased reporting and also criticized the BBC for hurting the sentiments of crores of people in India.
Lord Rami Ranger wrote in his tweet that “BBC News, you have hurt the sentiments of crores of people of India and also insulted the democratically elected Prime Minister of India, Indian Police and Indian Judiciary. We want riots and death of people. Condemn but we also condemn your biased reporting.”

United Hindu Front also lodged objection

An organization named United Hindu Front also strongly condemned the BBC on Thursday. Front’s International Working President Jai Bhagwan Goyal said that BBC knows that if it wants to be discussed worldwide, it will have to take support of Modi’s name only. Whatever other propaganda she is trying to do, it is a reflection of the imperialist thinking of the BBC, which is being uprooted from its own country.
He said that the two-part series ‘India the Modi Question’ on BBC is far from the facts. He objected to its name, saying that Modi would be a ‘question’ for the UK, such foul language would be befitting the BBC’s ethos. But Modi is the ‘answer’ for India and many countries of the world.

BBC describes documentary as ‘deeply researched’

Meanwhile, on Friday, the BBC defended its controversial documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A BBC spokesman said it was a ‘deeply researched’ documentary which sought to highlight important issues. “The documentary was thoroughly researched in accordance with the highest editorial standards,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
Opposition parties also reacted
Now the country’s main opposition Congress has also reacted to the controversial documentary. Party general secretary organization KC Venugopal said Narendra Modi is still scared of the truth about 2002 coming out after 21 years. Venugopal said that blocking the documentary was a cowardly and undemocratic act. This clearly shows the dictatorial attitude of Modi.

TMC leader Derek O’Brien said that the BBC documentary he posted has been removed from YouTube as expected. Further said that let’s see how many more times BJP gets it deleted.

India is organizing a virtual conference called Voice of Global South on January 12-13 as part of a new and unique effort in foreign policy.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, representatives of 120 countries can participate in this conference.

India is also the chairman of G-20 this year and this virtual conference is also being seen as an attempt to increase the influence of India’s presidency of G-20.

Before this, there has not been a conference of the countries of the Global South on such a large scale.

What is Global South?

In the concept of dividing the world on the basis of economic and social development, the world has been divided into two parts.

One is Global North and the other is Global South.

The Global North has more developed, prosperous and industrialized countries in the world. Like America, European countries, Japan, South Korea etc.

On the other hand, there are less developed countries in the Global South on the basis of economic and social development. These include countries in Latin America, Africa, Asia and Oceania.

On the basis of geography too, these countries come in the southern part of the world.

So far, the Global North has had an influence in the economic and political decisions of the world.

What will happen in Voice of Global South?

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, there will be 10 sessions in this two-day virtual conference, in which ministers and heads of state from different countries will participate.

The purpose of this conference is to provide a platform to the countries coming to the Global South to present their stand on different global issues.

The Ministry of External Affairs says that these efforts are based on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas’.

According to analysts, during its presidency in the G-20, India also wants to raise the issues of the countries of the Global South and in a way wants to gain leadership of the region.

In this conference, there will also be discussion on increasing cooperation in the field of economic development, environment, health, education and business.

Apart from this, the side of the countries of the Global South will also be discussed on important issues like climate change.

Why is India organizing this conference?

India is also the chairman of G-20 at this time. This is the first time that India has the presidency of the G-20 and it is also the first time that the countries of the Global South will hold the presidency of the G-20 for three consecutive years.

Indonesia was the president in 2022, this year it is India and next year it will be Brazil. That is, for three consecutive years, the presidency of the G-20 will be with the countries coming to the Global South. Not only this, South Africa will become the president after Brazil, that too comes in Global South only.

Analysts believe that in such a situation, India has a chance to increase its influence in the Global South during its presidency in G-20 and present itself as a natural leader.

associate fellow at the Center for Europe and Eurasia at the Manohar Parrikar Institute for Defense Studies and Analyses, says, “This time the most important voice in the G-20 will be that of the Global South. To make it even more real and strong, India is organizing this conference.” Because G-20 does not include all the countries of the Global South, India is holding this conference to make its presidency more effective and to present itself as a leader of the Global South.”

India wants that the agenda of the Global South should also find a place in the G-20 and other forums of the world.

“India has created this platform to bring the agenda of the countries of the Global South to the global stage and discuss them. This is the first conference of its kind in which countries of the Global South are participating in such a large number.” Huh.”

This means that a large population of the world will be represented in the Global South. These countries also have natural resources.

Analysts believe that even though a large population lives in the countries of the Global South, the agenda of the world is determined by the Global North.

The voice of economically and socially backward countries does not reach in this global agenda.

India has kept the theme of G-20 conference Vasudaiva Kutumbakam.

Through this conference, India also wants to emphasize the idea that it is thinking not only about itself but about the whole world.

Analysts believe that through this conference, India also wants to present itself as the champion of the Global South.

“India is emerging as a big global player. During the Kovid epidemic, India gave vaccines to countries around the world. At the international level, India is making efforts to further strengthen its image. There is also India’s effort to increase influence.

India has been repeatedly asserting that it does not believe in global alliances.

India’s policy has been of strategic autonomy. India is not a part of military alliance like Nato.

Even during the Cold War, he did not openly join any group. India was also the leader of the Non-Aligned Movement.

“Raising the issues of the Global South is also part of India’s international commitment. India also has the presidency of the G-20. In such a situation, it is also taking advantage of it.”

In recent years, India has strengthened its foreign policy. Has made good relations with Western and Europe and has not spoiled its relations with Russia as well.

India is part of the Quad along with Japan and Australia. Despite all the pressure on the Ukraine war, India has had its own stand.

Now India is joining forces with the countries of the Global South.

“This is India’s new diplomatic effort. A large population of the world lives in the Global South. India wants to show that it is in a position to firmly hold the issues of backward countries of the world.”

who will attend

India’s Ministry of External Affairs says that about 120 countries will be represented in this conference.

World and big leaders including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe can participate in this.

A session of heads of state will also be held in this conference under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

That is, the heads of many countries can participate in it.

Foreign Minister Jaishankar reached Vienna from Cyprus as part of the second leg of the two-nation tour. He made this statement while addressing the overseas Indians in Vienna. He said that the Ukraine war is a matter of deep concern. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in September that this is not an era of war. You cannot resolve differences through violence.

Expressing deep concern about the Ukraine war, India has said that in such a situation it is necessary for Russia and Ukraine to return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy.

Expressing concern over the situation in Ukraine, India’s Foreign Minister Jaishankar said on Sunday that India has been in favor of peace since the beginning and for this both the countries will have to forget the differences and return to the path of dialogue and diplomacy.

Jaishankar reached Vienna from Cyprus as part of the second leg of the two-nation tour. He made this statement while addressing the overseas Indians in Vienna.

He said that the Ukraine war is a matter of deep concern. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said in September that this is not an era of war. You cannot resolve differences through violence. Therefore, it has been our endeavor since the beginning that Russia and Ukraine return to the path of diplomacy and peace. We have talked to President Putin and Zelensky many times in this regard. I myself have spoken to my colleagues in Russia and Ukraine.

He further said that we know that this problem cannot be solved easily. But it is also necessary that those who believe in dialogue should speak clearly in this regard. We have always been towards peace and a large part of the world wants peace like us.

Let us tell you that India has not officially condemned Russia’s attack on Ukraine. India has always said that this situation should be resolved through dialogue.

Nicosia, Agency. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is on his first official visit to Cyprus. During this, he said in the capital Nicosia on Friday that India’s dominance in the global economy is increasing. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said this at a business event in Nicosia. He said the economically-driven trade policies and reforms of the Modi government contributed to India becoming one of the strongest destinations for foreign direct investment.

India has to be made a manufacturing hub

S Jaishankar said that our goal is to make India a major manufacturing hub and emerge as a $ 5 trillion economy by the year 2025. Meanwhile, S Jaishankar also mentioned the global corona pandemic. He said that during the Corona epidemic, we were one of the largest global centers in the manufacture of the vaccine. We supplied vaccine to 100 countries. He said that the motto of India G-20 is Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam i.e. the world is one family and we have brought it into practice during the pandemic.

Appetite to invest in India

At the business event, S Jaishankar said that the technological and infrastructural progress that India has made in the last few years has created more appetite in the world to invest in India. At the same time, he said that we have also increased our capabilities in relation to trade and other economic activities. The External Affairs Minister pointed out that India has made good use of the time of the Corona pandemic to carry out very ambitious economic reforms. Jaishankar also drew attention to the successes of the Productive Linked Incentive (PLI) programme, whose main objective is to increase production capacity in India.

Jaishankar visited Konark Wheel

EAM also visited the Konark Wheel during his visit to Cyprus. Cypriot Foreign Minister, Finance Minister and Home Minister were present on this occasion. S Jaishankar tweeted the picture and informed about it. The Konark Wheel is considered a symbol of the strong friendship between the two countries. India and Cyprus are currently celebrating 60 years of diplomatic relations. The Konark Wheel was gifted to Cyprus by India in 2017. The two countries also released commemorative postage stamps on 29 December to mark 75 years of India’s independence and 60 years of establishment of diplomatic relations.
