The VARANASI Sunday afternoon, a 2-year-old girl and her mother were successfully rescued from the custody of two kidnappers, according to the authorities. The kidnappers had taken the girl captive at knifepoint from her home in the VDA colony in the Shivpur neighbourhood of Varanasi. As reported by the police, they demanded a ransom of 10 lakh rupees.

The perpetrators have been identified as Vishwajeet Gond (aka Vikki Gond) and Manish Paswan (aka Prince), both of whom are under the age of twenty. According to Atul Anjan Tripathi, the Assistant Commissioner of Police for Cantt, these implicated individuals reside in the same neighbourhood. He added that a case has been lodged against them both under the pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

According to the police report, Bhailal, a retired NTPC engineer, resides in the Chandmari neighbourhood VDA colony, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Shivpur police station. Sunday afternoon, two young males rang his doorbell. As Bhailal exited and opened the door, the adolescents announced their desire to speak with him. However, they entered quickly and closed the door behind themselves.

Then, at knifepoint, they held his 2-year-old niece and his daughter-in-law as hostages. They threatened to kill the two people and asked for 10 lakh in exchange. Because of all the noise, Bhailal sounded the alarm and called for help. His neighbours called the cops right away. Senior police officers arrived at the scene quickly, and a large police force was sent to the area.

Atul Anjan Tripathi started talking to the people who had taken his son. With hard work, the police were able to open the door and catch both thieves. The young girl and her mother were saved from a dangerous situation. Tripathi hurt his hands when he tried to take down the two kidnappers during the fight.

Ashok Mutha Jain, the Commissioner of Police, said that the police team’s work would be rewarded with 50,000 and that the team that saved the mother and daughter should get a DG police recognition disc.
