Elon Musk’s company Tesla India Motor & Energy Pvt Ltd has leased an office space in Panchshil Business Park in Viman Nagar, Pune, days after two of its senior executives reportedly met with Invest India officials last week to discuss plans of entering India and establishing a manufacturing plant for electric vehicles.

The electric vehicle manufacturer has signed a five-year lease agreement with Tablespace Technologies Pvt Ltd to lease 5,850 square feet of office space on the first floor of B wing in Panchshil Business Park. Tesla will lease the space for 60 months at a monthly rate of 11.65 lakh and a security deposit of 34.95 lakh.

According to the agreement registered on July 26, 2023, the lease agreement will include five car parks and ten cycle parks, according to documents accessed and shared by CRE Matrix, a real estate analytics firm.

According to the documents, two companies consented to a 36-month lock-in period with an annual escalation clause of 5%. The lease will begin on October 1, 2023.

According to the Panschil Realty website, Panchshil Business Park at Viman Nagar has a development capacity of 10,77,181 square feet and is currently under construction. It is situated 500 metres from Nagar Road and three kilometres from the international airport in Pune. It is conveniently accessible from Kalyani Nagar, Koregaon Park, Wadgaonsheri, and Kharadi.

Despite the fact that Tesla’s Indian subsidiary was registered in Bengaluru in 2021, the company’s entry into India has been sluggish. In May, Reuters reported that Tesla had proposed establishing a factory in India to manufacture electric vehicles and EV batteries.

In May, India’s Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar told the agency, “They are very seriously considering India as a production and innovation base.”

During his US trip in June, Musk conferred with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and expressed interest in establishing a manufacturing facility in India. He informed reporters that Tesla was eager to invest in India. Musk was quoted as saying, “I am confident that Tesla will be in India as soon as humanly possible.”

Two senior Tesla executives purportedly met with Invest India officials last week and have scheduled additional meetings in Delhi.

Some farmers are getting rich off of the eight-fold increase in tomato prices, but their good fortune may not last long because supplies are expected to climb in the coming weeks.
According to figures gathered by the food ministry, the retail price of tomatoes in Delhi was 178 rupees a kilogram on Sunday, an increase of more than 700% since January 1. That day, the average across India was close to 120 rupees.

Many families have had to temporarily go without tomatoes, a crucial ingredient in staple Indian cuisine, because of the price increase brought on by severe rains affecting supplies. Farmers, though, are overjoyed.

In the current season, Ishwar Gaykar and his wife Sonali, who farm tomatoes on 12 acres (4.9 hectares) of land near Junnar in Maharashtra, have achieved a profit of around 24 million rupees, up from 1.5 million last year at this time.

The pair has become one of the region’s largest suppliers of tomatoes thanks to their reliance on a staff of 60 to 70 people, who work in the fields every day. Ishwar has become a local star, and reporters are clamoring to speak with him.

Ishwar lost roughly 2 million rupees (2021 USD) during the same season because tomato prices were low. “About one and a half months ago, tomatoes were fetching barely 2.5 rupees a kilogramme,” he stated. “Supply is low but demand is still high.”

So far, the pair has supplied around 350 tonnes, and if the weather holds, they anticipate selling an additional 150 tonnes in the near future. The present crop is somewhere from 120 to 140 days old, making it the third harvest of the year.

Heavy monsoon rains and floods in some locations have disrupted transportation, causing shortages. This has led to higher prices for other veggies, and inflation is expected to rise as a result. The issue has gone viral, and consumers are blaming both the rain god and the authorities for the current drought.

The government has begun deploying mobile vans to offer tomatoes at subsidised prices in several different areas. It’s having an effect, but consumers in the country of 1.4 billion are still paying extraordinarily expensive costs. The price of tomatoes typically rises in the wet summer months of July and August, but this year’s increase has been atypical.

In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, there are currently 1,791 buses operating on 389 routes from 15 depots.

The optimal route for morning and afternoon schedules, which should operate at full capacity, has been specified. On this route, consignments must be delivered within the allotted time and with the specified frequency, and regular or fixed drivers and conductors must be appointed.

Beginning on March 10, commuters discovered travelling without a ticket will be fined 500 yen instead of 300 yen. This action was taken to prevent revenue loss. The decision was made pursuant to Section 178 of the 1988 Motor Vehicle Act. In contrast, anyone discovered misusing or tampering with a PMPML bus or its infrastructure will be subject to a 500 fine.

Madhya Pradesh army veteran who was seriously injured in an accident.

PUNE An army veteran from Madhya Pradesh who was seriously hurt in an accident donated his organs to a number of recipients, among them the Pune-based widow of a soldier in the service. The Army Organ Retrieval and Transplant Authority (AORTA) organised an inter-hospital transfer of a heart for transplant on February 11 in a first for Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS).

The 40-year-old veteran who donated his organs was struck by a two-wheeler on February 8 in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, and was a victim of a road accident.

On February 9, he was transported to Army Hospital, Research & Referral (AHRR), New Delhi, after being put on life support at a nearby civil hospital. On February 11, the critical care team of AHRR declared him brain dead due to a severe head injury.

The veteran’s family willingly agreed to make numerous organ donations, according to the AORTA transplant coordinator.

A weak-hearted 29-year-old soldier’s wife was waiting for a suitable heart organ donor for the past six months, according to a news statement from the Army Institute of Cardio Thoracic Sciences.

She had dilated cardiomyopathy and recurrent ventricular tachycardia, according to Commandant AICTS. “She had an implanted gadget that continually shocked her heart automatically to maintain its beat. She needed a new heart to extend her life, and the AICTS team was looking for one that would work for her “said in the release.

With the aid of Western Air Command, the medical division of Southern Command organised the transport of a donated heart from AHRR.

Also Read: | Armenia pushes for infrastructure negotiations with India

AICTS, Pune was established by Southern Command Provost unit in coordination with Maharashtra state police and traffic police. The organ was retrieved by the heart surgery team at AHRR, transported through a green corridor to waiting Indian Air force aircraft at New Delhi specially dedicated to this effort, flown to Pune, and then transported by a green corridor to AICTS, Pune in little more than four hours.

The heart transplant was completed quickly by the director of cardiothoracic surgery at AICTS and his crew of surgeons and anesthesiologists.

Due to a miracle effort by the IAF in providing a quick Embraer jet aircraft, this is the first time a donor’s heart has been delivered between two service hospitals in such a short amount of time.
