The governor of Tamil Nadu, Ravindra Narayana Ravi, and the IT minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru Mano Thangaraj, were also at the programme.

The President spoke at the event and said, “I feel especially lucky today. I count it a blessing to be here with Adiyogi on the holy day of Maha Shivratri.” She said that Lord Shiva was a “god for everyone” and that the night of Maha Shivratri was “the end of the darkness of ignorance.”

She said, “There has never been a time when the need for a balanced, kind life in harmony with mother nature and all its dear children felt so urgent as it does today.”

The President called Sadhguru a “famous Rishi of our time” and said that “many people, especially young people in India and around the world, have found in him the inspiration to grow spiritually.”

On the show, Ram Mirjala, Velmurugan, Kutle Khan, Mangli, Ananya Chakraborty, Meenal Jain, Nihar Shembekar, and Kannada folk singers performed a wide range of music styles and compositions. Mame Khan, Niladri Kumar, a group of Georgian dancers, and the Theyyam fire dancers from Kerala were also well-liked.

Sadhguru led meditation sessions at the isha foundation event, and there was also a round of questions and answers. “Tens of thousands of people took advantage of two of Isha Mahashivaratri’s most important offerings: Maha Annadanam, in which food is given to everyone who comes to the Yoga Center on Mahashivaratri, and the Midnight Meditation with Sadhguru,” said a press release.

During his speech, Sadhguru talked about how important it is for each person to be physically and mentally stable. “We plan to teach simple forms of Yoga to at least 2 billion people around the world in the next 24 months. “This has to happen for the good of all people,” he said.
