End-to-end encryption is now available for beta Messages app users. In just over a month, the company “completed the rollout of group chat end-to-end encryption for Open Beta users,” reports 9to5Google.
With this feature, one-on-one texts sent using Messages by Google will be encrypted, making them private and secure. The Google Messages app includes end-to-end encryption when messaging someone with RCS (Rich Communication Services) enabled, but not group chats.

The tech giant said it “will be available in open beta in the coming weeks” “This chat is now end-to-end encrypted” will appear in group conversations, and the send button will have a lock icon.

The report said this will prevent Google or third parties from reading RCS chats in transit. Google also began testing full emoji reactions in Messages, allowing users to use any emoji.
