ENG vs SA World Cup 2023: Pitch Report

The ground provided by the Wankhede Stadium is essentially a batter’s paradise. Bowling is elected by teams that have won the coin; the average score in the first innings is 287.

ENG vs SA World Cup 2023: Head To Head Record

Netherlands will face Sri Lanka in the19th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Netherlands are ranked ninth with a record of one victory out of three matches played. In contrast, Sri Lanka have failed to secure a victory in any match thus far and currently occupy the lowest position in the table.

The Netherlands faced South Africa in their most recent match, in which the latter elected to field after winning the ball. Once the opening stand collapsed, they continued to lose wickets at a rapid rate and were reduced to 140 with seven wickets lost, following an encouraging start.

With a captain’s innings of 78, Scott Edwards led his team to a respectable 245 runs in a 43-over-per- side reduced match. South Africa were unable to get off to the ideal start and continued to lose wickets at consistent intervals. The Netherlands dealt a severe setback to the tournament by defeating South Africa by 38 runs.

Sri Lanka defeated Australia in their most recent match, in which the former gained the toss and was given the opportunity to bat. They had established a strong foundation as both of their openers appeared to be performing admirably, combining for 125 runs for the first wicket.

Both openers reached fifty runs, but as soon as they were dismissed, the rest of the team was bundled out for a mere 209. Australia appeared to initially stumble even in pursuit of this modest target. Subsequent to losing two wickets early in the match, they formed strong partnerships and ultimately prevailed by five wickets.

SL vs NED World Cup 2023: Pitch Report

At the Ekana Cricket Stadium, the pitch predominantly aids the batsmen. At the outset, pacers may benefit from seam and swing, which can be detrimental to the batsmen. The batters are granted unrestricted access to their strokes subsequent to the expenditure of a few balls on the ground. 60% of the time, teams that win the toss elect to bowl, and the average tally in the first innings is 232 runs.

Kusal Mendis: Mendis, who has amassed 207 runs at a strike rate of 156.82 in three matches, appears to be in outstanding form. He is also exceptionally skilled with gloves and may be the commander you’ve been seeking.

Dilshan Madushanka: Due to his tight line and length of delivery, Madushanka has taken seven wickets in just three contests. He is an additional viable candidate for captaincy positions.

Sadeera Samarawickrama: Samarickrama has amassed an outstanding century thus far in the tournament and is eager to do so once more. Consider him a potential asset to the organization.

Colin Ackerman: Ackerman has been making valuable contributions to the team both with the ball and the bat. In three contests, he has amassed 98 runs and three wickets.

Roelof van der Merwe: Merwe is a senior member of the team and possesses a wealth of experience that greatly benefits him. In three matches, he has taken four wickets and amassed 34 runs.

During India’s match against Bangladesh in the 2023 World Cup, India’s superstar batsman Virat Kohli notched his 48th century in one-day internationals, demonstrating once again his enormous prowess in the sport. One could sense a shift in Kohli’s mentality as he set his sights on the enchanted three-figure mark as India appeared to be well on their way to claiming a fourth straight title in the competition. Kohli’s batting average was already in the nineties. After all, Kohli had timed his innings to almost perfect precision ever since he arrived at the crease in the 13th over of the game, which is something he has consistently done throughout his career.

The legendary batsman Kohli started his chase for the century when India needed only 19 more runs to win and he needed exactly the same number of runs to reach the century mark himself. In the closing handful of overs of the game, Kohli prevented singles on multiple occasions, and KL Rahul, who was not the striker, was just as helpful to the 34-year-old in his effort to achieve his goal. In order to accomplish his milestone, Kohli’s strategy shifted to become more aggressive. He began to place more emphasis on finding boundaries and relied less on dashing between the wickets.

However, the completion of a Kohli innings is not possible without his flawless capability of converting ones into twos. Two quick twos in the penultimate over by Kohli wowed the audience, serving as evidence of his extraordinary stamina and fitness.

The pinnacle of Kohli’s unrelenting quest for excellence materialized in the most spectacular manner. Kohli, who required only two runs to secure the victory and three for his century, hit an extraordinary six against Nasum Ahmed in Pune, accomplishing not only a resounding victory for India but also a magnificent century.

Naturally, the crowd erupted in jubilation as Kohli demonstrated once more why he is considered one of the all-time finest ODI batters. Kohli’s 48th century brought him one step closer to Tendulkar, who currently holds the record for the most centuries scored in ODIs with 49.

Nevertheless, that was not the India star’s sole moment of achievement. In addition, throughout his innings against Bangladesh, Kohli surpassed Jayawardene to become the fourth-leading scorer in the history of international cricket.

He is now only behind Sachin Tendulkar (34,357 runs), Kumar Sangakkara (28,016 runs) and Ricky Ponting (27,483 runs) in this elite list. Additionally, Kohli surpassed Brian Lara and Rohit Sharma to rank as the fourth-leading scorer in ODI World Cup history. In ODI World Cups, he currently trails Sachin Tendulkar (2278 runs), Ricky Ponting (1743 runs), and Kumar Sangakkara (1531 runs).

ENG vs AFG World Cup 2023: Fantasy Picks

Dawid Malan: In the previous match, Malan was simply phenomenal, amassing 140 runs off 107 deliveries. He may be among the most qualified candidates to lead your fantasy squad.

Joe Root: Recent form did not favor Root significantly heading into the World Cup, but he has since turned the tables. Thus far, he has scored 159 runs in just two matches.

Azmatullah Omarzai: Both with the ball and the bat, Azmatullah is a valuable selection, having amassed 84 runs and one wicket in two matches. Additionally, he could be a viable candidate for the leadership role.

Jos Buttler: At 63 runs, Buttler has been unable to match the caliber of play that he believes he is capable of. Nonetheless, he is the type of athlete who can effortlessly score the winning runout in any contest.

Reece Topley: With a maximum of four wickets taken thus far in the tournament, Topley has been limited to one match. You must select him for your party.

Rashid Khan: Rashid has thus far appeared to be his team’s only viable option for getting wickets. Furthermore, he has amassed 25 runs in addition to two wickets in two contests.

Jonny Bairstow: Bairstow also performed admirably in the final match, scoring fifty and bringing his total to 85 runs. He is also capable of retaining wickets when necessary.
