This smartphone costs less Rs 40,000. Recently released Realme, Motorola, and OnePlus devices have increased rivalry in this segment. The Honor 90 5G arrived in emerald green, and here is my initial impression.

Rather than focusing on one area, the Honor 90 5G includes all the desirable specs. This smartphone features a 6.7-inch AMOLED curved-edge floating display, premium design, 200-megapixel rear camera, and 50-megapixel front camera.

The phone has a polycarbonate frame and glass back. Two ring-shaped camera bumps hold all rear sensors. Shiny trim around the hump. The rest of the panel contains dotted patterns that reflect light and provide grip. These dotting patterns greatly reduce fingerprints on the phone.

Honor 90 5G has a glossy frame. Phone power and volume rockers are on the right. One speaker grill, SIM tray, and USB Type-C connector are at the bottom. Top and bottom microphone ports. Honor 90 5G offers a curved display with narrow bezels. The bottom bezel is thicker.

A selfie camera notch is in the top-center of the display. Phone thickness is 7.8mm and weight is 183g. Honor 90 5G has an appealing design that stands out in a crowd of devices.

The Honor 90 5G’s display refreshes 120Hz. This AMOLED panel features 2664×1200 pixels. The phone’s peak HDR brightness is 1,600 nits. HDR10+ and Netflix-certified. HonorTech reports 3,840Hz PWM display dimming on its smartphone. Content looks bright and colorful on the display. Indoors and out, the colors are vivid.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 powers the Honor 90 5G. This chipset is found in some Indian cellphones, including the Motorola Razr 40. This SoC uses an excellent 4nm technology. The processor supports 14 5G bands. Despite utilizing it briefly, this processor was powerful.

I reviewed a machine with 8GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB storage. The phone performed well for social media surfing, streaming, and short-term gaming. Stay tuned for our comprehensive review of this smartphone after all our tests. HonorTech says the Honor 90 5G uses graphite sheet and AI-based thermal management to prevent overheating during heavy use.

Honor 90 5G sports a 200-MP rear camera. Other cameras include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide and macro and a third depth camera. Major rear camera sensor is 1/1.4-inch. The ultra-wide camera has a 112-degree FOV. The camera app offers HDR, portrait, multi-video, solo cut, and close up. Both the main back camera and 50-megapixel front camera can record 4K 30fps footage.

The main back camera has 10X digital zoom. My initial photos were good. The selfie camera seems better, but we’ll discuss camera performance in the review.

A 5,000mAh battery powers the Honor 90 5G, however the charger is not included. USB Type-A to Type-C is the only cable. Phone battery life was around a day at first.

Android 13-based Magic OS 7.1 powers the Honor 90 5G. The phone has preinstalled apps that could be removed. Other features include RAM Turbo, which may boost the phone’s RAM to 5GB. This phone has UFS 3.1 storage, NFC, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The business promises two years of software and three of security updates

Since last year, Samsung’s foldables have received iterative improvements, proving their peak innovation. Nothing wrong with that, but it means little to get excited about. The July debut of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 continued this year. Samsung used a redesigned hinge mechanism to reduce the phone’s weight and thickness, in addition to a newer chipset. Though it doesn’t transform the game, it’s a good start. Existing Galaxy Z Fold 4 owners can skip this generation and wait for next year’s model.

Indian Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 pricing

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 starts at the same price as last year’s model (which is still marketed in India). Rs. 1,54,999 buys you 256GB storage and 12GB RAM. Two more models have the same RAM but extra storage. The 512GB variant costs Rs. 1,64,999 and the 1TB variant Rs. 1,84,999. Nice to have storage alternatives because you can’t enlarge it. I recommend the base variant for most users. Icy Blue, Phantom Black, and Cream are available.

Samsung’s S Pen must be purchased separately for the Galaxy Z Fold 5. If you’ll be doing that, get the S Pen case with a stylus dock on the rear.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 design

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is nearly identical to its predecessor, however subtle differences like the LED flash positioning and colors may be seen. The aluminum frame and shatter-resistant glass on the front and back make it one of the greatest horizontally-folding phones. The redesigned hinge further reduces the gap by making the parts virtually flush when folded. The phone is IPX8 water-resistant.

The Galaxy Z Fold 5’s folding display is now 1,750 nits instead of 1,200 nits, but otherwise, the screens are similar. The Galaxy Z Fold 5 has the same 6.2-inch HD+ AMOLED outer display and 7.6-inch QXGA+ main panel.

Both displays offer bright colors and are legible in direct sunlight. It’s narrow to type on, but the exterior display is excellent for fast jobs. Multiple apps or leisure activities like gaming and viewing videos work best on the inner foldable display. The wrinkle is still visible at angles, but it’s hard to spot gazing at the display head-on.

Only a SIM remove tool and USB Type-C cable come with the Galaxy Z Fold 5. Splurge on the S Pen cover case for enhanced protection and stylus for such a smartphone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 specs and software

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “Mobile Platform for Galaxy” SoC like the S23 series. A strong, energy-efficient CPU with good performance. The 4,400mAh battery and 25W wired and 15W wireless charging remain from last year.

Galaxy Z Fold 5 battery life and performance

The top Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 doesn’t lag when pushed. The strong SoC and RAM ensure enough power for all apps. The SoC-equipped half of the phone warns during gaming or demanding duties, while the other half keeps cool. Excellent multitasking and gaming performance.

The S Pen works fine, but the outer screen doesn’t support it, so you have to open the phone to take notes or use it. Remember that the Z Fold 5 only supports the ‘S Pen for Fold’, therefore the S Pen for ordinary S series phones like the S23 Ultra won’t function.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 cameras

Nothing has changed with the camera hardware. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 50-megapixel wide, 12-megapixel ultra-wide, and 10-megapixel telephoto with 3X optical zoom (up to 30X total zoom) rear camera. Ten-megapixel selfie camera on outer screen, 4-megapixel under-display camera in foldable display. Photo quality is poor, hence the latter is preferable for video chats. Samsung could have used larger sensors and stronger optical zoom like on the S23 Ultra, but that would have made the foldable thicker.

Every day, approximately 19500 iPhones are sold. Many of these iPhone owners bought the iPhone because of its excellent camera and photo quality.

Before acquiring an iPhone, it is a good idea to check the ROM size. We must verify that its internal storage capacity can support the files that we will save on it in the future. So, if you are a picture enthusiast, model, or user who enjoys the camera features of the iPhone, you will want to know how many photos your iPhone can keep.

What is the maximum number of photos that an iPhone can store?

An iPhone can store between 3000 and 200,000 photographs. This number is determined by a variety of things. However, the biggest component is usually dictated by your iPhone’s accessible storage capacity.

As a result, if your iPhone has plenty of storage capacity, the amount of images it can shoot will be enormous.

What Is a Smartphone’s Available and Maximum Storage Capacity?

The amount of open space in a smartphone, whether Android or iPhone, is its available storage capacity. It excludes the storage space already used by data and programmes on your smartphone.

A smartphone’s maximum storage capacity is the total amount of storage that your smartphone can hold. It covers the amount of space currently used by files on your smartphone as well as those that are free or not occupied.

How to Work Out How Many Photos an iPhone Can Store

To figure out how many images an iPhone can carry, first determine the average size of a normal JPG shot taken with an iPhone.

An iPhone can take images ranging in size from 500 KB to approximately 10 MB. Using these statistics, the typical iPhone JPG photo length will be around 5 Mb. This size is determined by the camera’s quality, lighting, and other filters.

1 GB contains 1000 MB. As a result, if an average JPG photo in an iPhone is roughly 5 MB, we have about 200 photos in 1 GB of iPhone storage.

How Many Photos Can Fit on a 32GB iPhone?

If a 1 GB iPhone photo can store approximately 200 images, a 32 GB iPhone, such as the iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone SE, and iPhone 7, can store approximately 6400 images.

How Many Photos Can a 64-Gigabyte iPhone Store?

If a 1 GB iPhone photo can store approximately 200 images, a 64 GB iPhone, such as the iPhone 6, iPhone SE, or iPhone 7, can store approximately 12,800 images.

How Many Pictures Can a 128 GB iPhone Store?

Using the computation (200 128), a 128 GB iPhone, such as the iPhone 7+ model and above, can contain around 25,600 photographs.

What is the maximum number of photos that a 256 GB iPhone can store?

A 256 GB iPhone, such as the iPhone 8 and later, can store around 200 256 = 51,200 photographs.

How Many Pictures Can a 512 GB iPhone Store?

If a 1 GB iPhone photo can store approximately 200 images, a 512 GB iPhone can store approximately 102,400 images.

These iPhones include the iPhone X, iPhone X Max, iPhone 11, and all of the versions mentioned above.

How Many Photos Can a 1 Terabyte iPhone Store?

If a 1 GB iPhone photo can store approximately 200 shots, a 1 TB iPhone, such as the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max, can store approximately 200,000 photographs.

Which iPhone models come with 1 TB of storage?

Only two iPhone generations have 1 TB internal storage or ROM size as of September 2022. These are the iPhone 13 and 14 series.

Only the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max offer up to 1 TB of storage.

However, all iPhone 14 models released on September 7, 2022, contain up to 1 TB of storage.

Factors Influencing the Capacity of Your iPhone for Photos

The amount of images your iPhone can shoot is affected by a variety of things.

As a result, even if your iPhone has enough of maximum storage or ROM size, the number of images it can save is limited by free space and other criteria.

Image Quality

Pictures of lower quality or resolution will take up less space on your iPhone. As a result, there is greater space to store more images.

In rare situations, a thumbnail version of the photographs can be saved. You can keep photographs that are smaller in size by using the Thumbnail version.

Apps and files such as games, films, music, screenshots, and others limit the quantity of images that can be saved on your phone.

Moving some files to iCloud will help in such cases. You can also upload photos to iCloud or other cloud storage services.

Despite not always having the most competitive technology, Google’s Pixel smartphones have always been noted for their superb camera capabilities. However, with the addition of imaging chipsets to some of the most recent top Android phones, manufacturers have been able to produce a similar level of picture quality that easily rivals the Pixel’s AI photography smarts. Google’s return to the premium smartphone sector in India after four years may delight aficionados and Android purists, but will it be able to entice the vast majority of customers who have switched to other brands? Continue reading to discover out.

placing is always a sensitive matter in the premium smartphone industry, but Google appears to have done the new Pixels right by placing them significantly below Apple and Samsung’s ‘Pro’ and ‘Ultra’ options.
The capacity may appear to be a bit limited (especially for the Pixel 7 Pro), and there is no option to enlarge it, but this also allows Google to drive consumers into purchasing one of its cloud storage plans. Unfortunately, there is no longer any free unlimited cloud backup available. The Pixel 7 comes in Obsidian, Lemongrass, and Snow colours, while the Pixel 7 Pro comes in Obsidian, Snow, and Hazel. I was sent the Pixel 7 in Obsidian and the Pixel 7 Pro in Hazel for review.

Design of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

I enjoy how Google has made an attempt to differentiate both of its 7 series smartphones, despite having the same revamped design based on the previous Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The Pixel 7 is smaller than the Pixel 7 Pro, but not as little as Samsung’s Galaxy S22, which remains one of the few true compact (or mini) Android flagships.

The Pixel 7’s frame features a brushed metal design that is comparable to the Pixel 6a (Review), but feels smoother and appears more refined, with a camera module that looks a lot cleaner thanks to the one piece aluminium band that spans the width of the phone. The Pixel 7 Pro receives a similar finish, but instead features a polished aluminium frame.

The Google Pixel 7’s matte texture makes it rather slippery, as expected, so I invariably ended up placing my index finger under the big camera hump, which appears to be Google’s distinctive design feature since the Pixel 6 series. The Pixel 7 Pro’s smooth frame makes it much easier to hold. Both smartphones include polished glass rear panels made of Gorilla Glass Victus, as well as front-facing displays that do an outstanding job of preventing fingerprints and scratches.

Both smartphones have a great heaviness to them, which adds to the quality in-hand feel that the Pixel 6a lacked. The Pixel 7 weighs 197g, while the Pixel 7 Pro weighs 212g, neither of which is excessively overweight in comparison to comparable devices in their respective sectors. Both devices are also dust and water resistant, with an IP68 rating.

During the review time, I noted that the shiny camera module of the Pixel 7 Pro was readily scratched. The Pixel 7’s matte-finished camera module, on the other hand, was scratch-free. The Pixel 7 Pro’s curved edge display makes it appear and feel more luxurious than the Pixel 7’s flat display. When swiping in from the sides, I found the edges of the Pixel 7’s frame to be a little sharp. The Pixel 7’s bezels are also not as small as I imagined, which detracts from the device’s luxury appeal, especially because the Pixel 6a looks so comparable.

Specifications and software for the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro

The new Google Tensor G2 processor, a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 10.8-megapixel selfie camera, and stereo speakers are all included. Both phones have the same communication standards, with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, USB Type-C (3.2), and support for the standard satellite navigation systems.

The Google Pixel 7 comes with a 4,355mAh battery with 20W wired charging, while the Pixel 7 Pro comes with a larger 5,000mAh battery and 23W charging. Both smartphones have wireless charging capabilities of 20W and 23W, respectively, as well as reverse wireless charging (Battery Share) for charging accessories. Surprisingly, the Pixel 7 lacks the Ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna found on the Pixel 7 Pro.

So, let’s see if the new Oppo Find N2 Flip can pique the interest of smartphone enthusiasts.

Design

Oppo Find N2 Flip immediately reminds you of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4, but it has a larger look and a lighter body design. When compared to the Samsung Flip4, the inclusion of a larger cover screen allows for more ease of use of the available widgets. The phone’s modest body weight is also attributable to its plastic construction. The key placement is identical to that of other Oppo phones, with the power button and volume rockers on the right side. The IR emitter and secondary mic are located on the phone’s top side, while the SIM tray, USB Type-C connector, and speaker grille are located on the phone’s bottom.

We received the phone in the Astral Black colour variation, which adds an aesthetic appeal. There is also a Moonlit Purple hue option available. Oppo’s second-generation Flexion Hinge was used, which helps to reduce body weight and allows for more space to fit a larger battery. The phone is simple to use and transport, fitting comfortably in the pocket. We loved how the business kept the backside minimal, with only two camera sensors and the cover screen. A larger cover screen has the issue of accumulating smudges due to hand natural posture, which can cover the screen. The front side, on the other hand, is all-screen with no bezels and a punch-hole camera sensor. It also has an in-built fingerprint sensor that responds to touch lightning quick. The phone is equipped with Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

Display

The new Oppo Find N2 Flip has a 6.8-inch LTPO, E6 AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels. It has a cinematic aspect ratio of 21:9 and an adjustable refresh rate of 120Hz. The monitor supports HDR10+ and all contents in their highest quality. The colour reproduction on the screen is extremely rich and punchy, greatly boosting the watching experience. The hinge is nearly invisible while viewing movies or playing games, and you won’t be able to see the hinge lines unless you look at it from specific angles. The business has added a peak brightness of 1,600 nits, which allows the screen to be comfortably visible in strong sunshine.

The cover screen, on the other hand, measures 3.26 inches and is the largest cover screen we’ve seen on a flip phone to date. It has a 17:9 aspect ratio and a peak brightness of 900 nits. You can see up to six notifications on the cover screen and respond to all mainstream messaging applications using built-in and custom phrases.

OS

The Find N2 Flip is powered by Android 13, with an in-house layer of ColorOS 13 similar to the OnePlus 11. The UI is simple and straightforward, and the OS 13 has a number of useful functions. The OS also powers the cover screen functionality, such as the always-on display and other widget features.

Processor

The new Find N2 Flip is powered by the Dimensity 9000+, a high-end Mediatek chipset developed on a 4nm process with octa cores, one at 3.20 GHz Cortex-X2, three at 2.85 GHz Cortex-A710, and the remaining four at 1.80 GHz Cortex-A510. The processor easily handles any task with no noticeable lags. We ran high-end games like BGMI quite smoothly, which could be ascribed to the Mali-G710 MC10 GPU. The processor is further supported by the 8GB of RAM. Our evaluation equipment came with 256GB of ROM storage.

Cameras

Oppo’s latest Find N2 Flip features a strong camera configuration. The primary camera lens is a 50MP IMX890 wide sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The second camera has an 8MP Sony IMX355 sensor with an f/2.2 aperture. We thought the images taken during the day were gorgeous and detailed. The colour balance is outstanding, with little noise and a wide dynamic range. The contrast is also excellent. The ultrawide lens is also good, but when compared to the Samsung Flip4, it falls short due to the quantity of wide range captured by the Flip4. When in portrait mode, the camera lens performs an excellent job of isolating the background.

Battery

The Oppo Find N2 Flip comes with a 4,300mAh battery, which is somewhat larger than the 3,700mAh battery found in the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4. The phone easily lasts a day on a single charge. Another feature we appreciated about the current Oppo Find N2 Flip is its 44W rapid charging capability. The firm has included a 67W adaptor that charges the phone in approximately 50-55 minutes. Despite being a flagship phone, it falls short of the newest OnePlus 11, which includes a faster charger.

If you want a cheap phone, you have to choose between a 4G model with the capabilities you want and a 5G model with some obvious flaws. Phone manufacturers must find savings in order to keep prices low due to the high cost of 5G chipsets. A Redmi phone, however, asserts that it provides more than you would anticipate while maintaining the highest level of mobile network speed.

This is my review of the Redmi 12 5G, which I have been using for more than a week.

Display and design

The first thing that will capture your attention is the design of the Redmi 12 5G. The phone has a sleek rear panel that simply displays the brand name, which gives it a premium impression. I like this basic design decision. It will be difficult to find a phone in this price range that is more enticing than this one. The punch-hole camera on the front, which is increasingly rare at this price point, also retains the luxury appearance.

ALSO READ : Redmi Watch 3 Active review: A fine example for watch software design.

The chin is the only indication that the phone is inexpensive, but it is a minor drawback given the price. The phone has a solid design that makes it feel like it can withstand years of harsh use in addition to having a quality appearance. Even while the screen isn’t AMOLED, it is a high-quality 6.79-inch LCD with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate and an FHD+ resolution, so there are no complaints there.

Performance

The Redmi 12 5G is the first device to enter the Indian market with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 processor. With the naming of this processor, Qualcomm has completely excelled itself. The 4 Gen 2 chip, as its name suggests, performs at exactly half the speed of the flagship-level 8 Gen 2. Given how incredibly strong the flagship chip is, transferring half of its performance to a phone that costs only a small portion of a flagship phone is an accomplishment.

The phone easily completes daily duties and even performs gaming without any issues. On Smooth+Ultra, you can play BGMI like a pro, but it’s terrible that there isn’t an Extreme frame rate option. Even the challenging CarX Street, one of my fave mobile racing games, runs smoothly on CODM and is playable. The 5,000mAh battery provides all-day usage.

The MIUI operating system on the phone is my biggest pet peeve. Despite having a strong CPU, the phone runs a lighter version of MIUI that lacks blur effects and has fewer animations. The background of the control console is a flat, uninspiring grey. The skin is well-optimized for the device, but despite this, it appears to be in serious need of updates because it lacks some capabilities when compared to its competitors. For instance, customising icons is not a built-in feature. Additionally, Xiaomi continues to handle the China and global versions of MIUI differently and uses out-of-date components on the latter while the former has significantly more capabilities. But hey, this year does at least support MIUI Messaging and Dialer.

Camera

A 2MP depth sensor helps the 50MP primary camera on the Redmi 12 5G. I managed to get some really beautiful photos in daytime situations that I wouldn’t hesitate to put on my social media. For a low-cost device, the hues were natural and accurate, and the dynamic range was amazing. However, nighttime circumstances suffer, making it clear that this is a low-cost device. However, if you keep your hands steady enough, you can eventually take usable pictures, like the one I took of the Noida skyline below.

Must you purchase the Redmi 12 5G?

Overall, the Redmi 12 5G is an exceptional phone for its price range; in fact, it’s one of the most affordable 5G options in India. It boasts an elegant design, a seamless operation, and excellent camera quality. The software experience was the one thing I did not like, but it is a matter of taste. The Redmi 12 5G should be your first choice if you’re on a low budget and seeking for a 5G phone.

Smartphones designed for gaming can be as expensive as flagship models. With the release of the GT 10 Pro, a mid-range phone that’s unlike anything else on the market, Infinix plans to disprove this perception. The Infinix GT 10 Pro has a strong specification list and a unique appearance that draws significantly on the Nothing Phone 2. Here is my review of the Infinix GT 10 Pro after using it for a week.

Experience with unpacking

With businesses increasingly including the phone and a charging wire in the sake of being environmentally friendly, the smartphone unwrapping experience has gotten worse with time. However, Infinix takes a different approach and provides what may be the best smartphone unwrapping experience in 2023.

Outstanding exhibition and striking design

The Mirage Silver variation (Cyber Mecha design), which I received for evaluation, has a distinctive design and a panel whose colour changes from white to pink when exposed to UV radiation. Additionally, the tiny LED lights on the back may sync with the music and act as notification lights.

The phone, a soft case, a charger, and a data cable are included in the retail package. Even though the device ships with a soft screen protector, the retail box also contains toughened glass. Additionally, the business will provide a gaming kit with free shoulder triggers and a set of anti-slip thumb sleeves for the first 5000 users. The unboxing process was not only enjoyable, but it also made sure that the users received all the required components within the package.

Average camera output

The primary 108 MP camera of the Infinix GT 10 Pro, which supports up to 4K video recording, does all the important tasks, leaving the extra 2 MP depth and macro lenses largely ineffective. Similar to most recently released Infinix smartphones, the GT 10 Pro sports a 32 MP selfie camera that supports up to 1080p video recording. These front-facing LEDs will help while taking selfies in low light.

The weakest component in this well-built bundle is the camera. The phone captures good images when there is natural lighting. Even when night mode is on, most photographs appear noisy and fuzzy in dim lighting.

Listed below are a few unaltered camera samples taken with the Infinix GT 10 Pro.

gameplay effectivenes

The hardware and software in the Infinix GT 10 Pro combine to make it one of the best gaming phones around Rs 20,000. In my testing, the Dimensity 8050, coupled with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, provided over 600,000 points on AnTuTu, and even in our COD: Mobile and BGMI tests, the device performed admirably and provided a stable 60 frames per second gameplay, even at higher graphics settings.

Additionally, only this Infinix phone comes pre-installed with an XOS based on Android 13 that is devoid of bloatware. It is only eligible for one significant Android OS update, though. One of the main problems I had with the GT 10 Pro was the notification system, which prevented some notifications from appearing whether I was viewing a movie or using an app in full-screen mode. Similar to this, I also found that while multitasking, the phone would seem a little heavy.

Connection and battery life

With a 5,000 mAh battery and compatibility for 45W rapid charging over a USB Type-C connector, the Infinix GT 10 Pro can charge its battery to capacity in around an hour. The phone’s screen would stay on for about five to six hours on average, and the battery would lose 10% of its power over night.

Do you want to purchase the Infinix GT 10 Pro?

There are many things that the Infinix GT 10 Pro gets right. The phone checks practically all the criteria, from its distinctive design to its wonderful hardware. However, based on my experience with the phone, I believe that the firm still needs to tweak the software for better multitasking despite the absence of bloatware. Overall, the Infinix GT 10 Pro is unquestionably among the best smartphones around Rs 20,000 for the asking price.

In a nutshell, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G has two storage configurations.

The entry-level 128GB variant costs Rs 30,999.

Costing Rs 32,999 is the 256GB variant.

Even while the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G may not have the highest number of specs currently available, it does have some interesting features. Most importantly, it is one of the few breeds of Android phones in the Rs 30,000 price range that offers a four-year update guarantee, a promise that even the most expensive Android smartphones sometimes fail to keep. Simply put, consumers will have the chance to utilise new features over the following four years, extending the life of the phone.

In addition to the four years of Android commitment, it provides practically all of the features that modern clients demand. It has a large 6.6-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. A 48-megapixel OIS camera and a largely useful 5-megapixel macro camera are part of the rear camera system. Two SIM cards can be used—SIM 1 + Hybrid (SIM or MicroSD)—and 5G is supported. Additionally, NFC functionality is available, which is useful for conducting digital payments.

However, the Galaxy A34 5G lags behind its rivals in a few key areas. First of all, the Galaxy A34 costs the same as the Motorola Edge 40, which is also a somewhat big phone. Its 256GB storage variant, which I also use, costs Rs 32,999, which is somewhat more than the 128GB storage model, which costs Rs 30,999. The 5,000mAh battery is sizable, but the 25W charging speed may seem slow when compared to what Samsung’s Chinese competitors provide on their sub-Rs 20K smartphones.

Despite all of these drawbacks, I believe the Galaxy A34 5G to be a reliable device and a desirable upgrade for current Samsung smartphone owners. The viewpoint might change if you’ve never owned a Samsung phone and are eyeing a Rs 30,000 value-for-money phone. I will give a detailed analysis and an explanation of why in this long-term evaluation.

Design and display of the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G

Samsung has been using a same design aesthetic throughout all of its devices, whether they are the pricey Galaxy M34 or the high-end Galaxy S23 Plus. Since this strategy aims to bring about uniformity among its products, I actually enjoy it. After all, Samsung releases a big selection of phones every year.

The stereo speakers, SIM card tray, USB-C connector, volume rockers, and power button are the only other things you won’t find at this pricing point. The SIM card tray is located at the top of the device. It’s important to note that there isn’t an audio jack, which is unusual in this market right now.

Regarding the display, there isn’t much to complain about, although some users could find the hefty top and bottom bezels and the antiquated waterdrop notch for the selfie camera bothersome. After a few days of use, I believe the majority of people will likely forget about these little flaws. It would be wonderful if Samsung raised the standard in this area given their reputation as a pioneer in high-end displays. However, the phone’s brightness is enough for outside use, and movie viewing produces vivid colours. Although top Samsung phones have considerably greater contrast, the blacks are likewise deep.

It shouldn’t be difficult to watch shows on well-known streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and other OTTs. Full-HD+ resolution is supported by the display.

There is a fingerprint scanner integrated into the display as well. For speedier performance, I typically like fingerprint scanners on the power button. The fingerprint scanner on the Galaxy is not only uncomfortable to use ergonomically since it is too close to the bottom bezel, but it also reacts more slowly than scanners on competing devices like the iQOO Neo 7 and Motorola Edge 40.

Specs of the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G

The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC, one of the most reliable chipsets in this market, provides power to the Galaxy A34 5G. During our 15-minute throttle test using the Throttle app, it experienced no heating difficulties. Users can select between two storage options, and the SoC is combined with 8GB of RAM. I conducted the review using the 256GB variant.

The Galaxy A34 performed poorly in benchmark tests when compared to its competitors. Its single-core and multiple-core scores on the Geekbench CPU test were 773 and 2536 points, respectively. The phone achieved an average fps of 13.7 and a score of 2,288 in the 1-minute Wildlife test by 3D Mark. These results are noticeably lower when compared to the Motorola Edge 40, which costs Rs 30,000.

However, statistics do not tell the whole story; for routine tasks, the Galaxy A34 5G performed well with only a few tiny stutters. During my review period, most of the apps—including WhatsApp and Chrome—operated without any issues. The Galaxy A34 can handle and run most games if you’re a serious gamer, but there are better options on the market for this price range. I played 8-ball pool and games like Angry Birds without experiencing any heating problems. Switching to heavier games like Pokemon Unite causes the experience to become a little disappointing. The haptics and sound quality in games are also subpar, which makes for a poor experience.

There are various advantages for productivity, which is what the Galaxy A34 5G is primarily made for, including seamless networking with other Samsung devices. All of the devices I used with the phone—the Galaxy Book 3 Pro, Galaxy Buds 2, and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro—were intricately connected to one another.

The guarantee of four years of Android updates is, as was already noted, the Galaxy A34 5G’s greatest advantage. It comes pre-installed with Android 13 and receives regular upgrades.

There is a tonne of bloatware (removable), as well as several Samsung and Google apps that cannot be deleted. While I don’t mind having pre-installed apps, I believe the Android ecosystem has to evolve because, unlike the Apple ecosystem, it does not allow for the removal of proprietary apps. Additionally, there are adverts on the lock screen that are difficult to turn off. Brands may make these commercial decisions in order to maintain a competitive price, but consumers should at least have the choice to turn off unused apps and notifications.

Regarding the battery, I’ve never had a strong opinion about Samsung mid-range smartphones. While I don’t mind Samsung getting rid of the charger, the Galaxy phones still don’t support ultra-fast charging, whereas their Chinese competitors can reach 80W at this price. A full day or even one and a half days of backup are readily guaranteed by the integrated 5,000mAh battery, which is the good news. Remember that the highest settings are active in this case, including 5G, always-on display, and 120 Hz refresh rate.

cameras from Samsung Galaxy A34 5G

When it comes to photography, Samsung’s new philosophy of “less is more” is appealing to me. The new Galaxy A34 has three sensors on the back and one on the front, down from four rear cameras on its prior mid-range models. A 48-megapixel primary camera with OIS capability, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 5-megapixel macro camera are all featured on the rear. There is a 13-megapixel sensor on the front panel.

OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) on the main camera has unquestionably made a difference. The Galaxy A34 5G takes steady pictures and movies when compared to the Galaxy M33 or M52 from earlier generations. This development was apparent in both dimly lit and well-lit environments. However, there is still room for increase in the processing power. I’ve encountered situations when an oil-painting effect is discernible, despite the fact that the primary and ultra-wide cameras generate decent colours with a respectably high dynamic range. Zooming in makes the effect more obvious.

Even in low-light conditions, the two rear sensors produce pictures that are largely comparable, with the processing unit deftly boosting shadows and warmth. Natural colours are sacrificed, but the overall appearance of the pictures and movies is improved. This might be advantageous, though, if you don’t like to alter your media before sharing it to websites like Instagram.

Unexpectedly, the 5-megapixel macro camera is also usable, though it needs plenty of light to operate effectively.

The 13-megapixel camera on mid-range Samsung phones is generally good, but skin colour recognition is still a problem. My complexion has been lighter on multiple instances thanks to the phone, which some users or makers could secretly appreciate. Additionally, the camera app offers a “fun” mode that makes use of Snap filters.

Overall, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G’s cameras deliver a consistent and dependable performance, which is essential for meeting the needs of the majority of customers. The Nothing Phone (1) or Pixel (6a) are excellent choices if you’re a budding content maker and value natural tones. The Samsung Galaxy A34 5G won’t let you down if you’re comfortable with high contrast and pale skin tones in your photographs and videos.

Verdict on the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G: Is it worth it?

As I stated at the outset of this review, the Samsung Galaxy A34 5G is not the handset with the most features available, but it is a dependable option for people replacing their previous Samsung phones. It operates faultlessly for daily production with no careless stutters. If you maintain good battery hygiene, you can anticipate the same performance even after two years. Additionally, Samsung is pledging a total of four years of Android OS updates, which ought to become the norm going ahead.

The Galaxy A34’s camera performance is passable, but there are better options for videos. I would advise choosing the 256GB storage option because it might prove advantageous in the long term. The Motorola Edge 40 is also a fantastic choice in this price range if you place a high priority on productivity and battery life. It does, however, have a curved display, which can be more difficult and expensive to repair. In contrast to Samsung, which is no longer the case, Motorola is likewise famed for being hesitant to push Android. In that case, the Galaxy A34 will do if you like a flat display, a sturdy body, and dependable performance.
