7 Killed in explosion at firecracker Unit In Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram

A firecracker unit in Tamil Nadu’s Kanchipuram engulfed in flames on Wednesday. Several people, who sustained burn injuries, were rushed to a hospital.

Wednesday, an explosion at a pyrotechnic factory in the Kancheepuram district of Tamil Nadu claimed the lives of seven individuals, including three women.

Five persons were pronounced dead at the scene, while 15 others were injured and rushed to the government hospital in Kancheepuram. “Two of the fifteen perished in the hospital. The current fatality toll is seven, according to an unnamed government official.

Officials reported that fire trucks and ambulances were dispatched promptly to the explosion site. The district collector of Kancheepuram, M. Aarthi, the deputy police inspector general, P. Pakalavan, and the police superintendent, M. Sudhakar, were on the scene to supervise the rescue efforts.

After the explosion at noon, locals also raced to the scene and began transporting injured individuals in vehicles before the ambulance arrived.
