Mika Singh has expressed his grief on the passing of Parkash Singh Badal, former chief minister of Punjab and patron of the Shiromani Akali Dal.
Mika referred to Parkash Singh Badal as the “King of Punjab” in a tweet.
“A great man, the monarch of Punjab and the true sardar who ruled Punjab for over fifty years. Numerous politicians will come and go, but we will remember only one: #Parkashsinghbadal.May Waheguru grant his soul eternal slumber.Big loss,” he said.

The death of Parkash Singh Badal occurred at Fortis Hospital Mohali. He was 95.
In an official media release, Fortis Hospital stated, “Former Punjab Chief Minister S Parkash Singh Badal was admitted to Fortis Hospital Mohali on April 16, 2023, with acute exacerbation of bronchial asthma. As his respiratory condition deteriorated, he was moved to the medical ICU on April 18th. He had been administered NIV and HFNC in addition to medical management.”
“He was being cared for by Prof. (Dr.) Digambar Behera along with the Pulmonology and critical care team, with support from the Cardiology department. Despite proper medical care, S. Parkash Singh Badal passed away from his illness. Fortis Hospital Mohali extends its deepest condolences on S Parkash Singh Badal’s passing,” the statement continued.Badal was admitted to the intensive care unit on April 21 due to respiratory difficulties, the SAD had previously reported.

Badal served as CM from 1970 to 1971, 1977 to 1980, 1997 to 2002, and 2007 to 2017. He was also the youngest person to ever hold the position of Chief Minister of Punjab.
