Recently, Bhumika Chawla discussed being supplanted in films, despite the success of Tere Naam with Salman Khan. She stated that leading roles in films such as Jab We Met and Munna Bhai MBBS were proposed to her. However, it ultimately went to Kareena Kapoor and Vidya Balan for unknown reasons.
With Tere Naam, Bhumika made her début in Bollywood. Written by Bala and Jainendra Jain, the 2003 blockbuster film was directed by Satish Kaushik. It is a remake of Bala’s 1999 Tamil film Sethu and was a sensation, launching her into the Hindi film industry after beginning her career with the Telugu film Yuvakudu.

However, the prominence of Tere Naam did not make it easy for her to acquire film roles. During a conversation with RJ Siddharth Kanan, Bhumi stated in Hindi, “After Tere Naam, I received numerous proposals. I’ve always been selective and selective in my actions. I had signed a contract for a major film after it, but the production, then the protagonist, and the film’s title all changed. Then the protagonist was altered as well. But if I had done that, the outcome would have been different. So it is said, jo likha hai, woh hota hai (it all depends on fate). I did not sign any other films during the year that I waited for that film. Later, I inked a contract for a second unsuccessful film. It’s a gamble, you never know when or which film will be successful.
“The only time I felt terrible was when I attempted to sign Jab We Met and failed. Bobby (Deol) and I were the first to call the band Train. Shahid (Kapoor) and I were next, followed by Shahid and Ayesha (Takia) and Shahid and Kareena (Kapoor). That is how events transpired, but it’s alright,” Bhumika continued. The interviewer then inquired whether the film she mentioned was Jab We Met, which she confirmed. The actor stated, “I’ve only ever felt terrible once, and never again because I simply move on. I don’t give it much thought. I had signed for Munna Bhai MBBS, but it never occurred. “There was no Kannathil Muthamittal with Mani (Ratnam) sir,” she revealed. “Only Sir Raju may share this. When we met after 10 to 12 years, he explained the reason. He stated, “Someone’s error resulted in your removal from the film.” But it’s alright. This also occurs in this film, she reasoned, referring to her departure.
Recently, Bhumika appeared in Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, which marked her reunion with Salman. This time, however, she was not his romantic interest. She played Pooja Hegde’s sister-in-law in the film.
