Tuesday’s Air India Newark (US)-Delhi (AI106) flight was forced to make an emergency landing at the Stockholm airport in Sweden due to a technical issue.One of the engines of the Boeing 777-300ER aeroplane used for the voyage leaked oil. After the engine was shut down due to the oil leak, the flight landed safely in Stockholm.
During the ground inspection, oil was observed leaking from the drain mast of engine two, and an investigation is currently underway.All travellers are safe. A huge number of fire engines were dispatched to the airport in response to the emergency landing.

This occurs just one day after a medical emergency caused an Air India flight from New York to Delhi to be diverted to London. The jet was flying above Norway when it abruptly turned right and headed for the United Kingdom.
“The New York-New Delhi-bound flight AI-102 has been diverted to London owing to a medical issue onboard. Our ground personnel at Heathrow have been notified, and preparations have been made to transport the affected individual to a hospital “An Air India representative told the news agency ANI.

“Flight AI 106, which was supposed to depart from Newark and head to Delhi, was forced to make an emergency landing in Stockholm early today morning due to a mechanical problem. There were 284 passengers and 8 infants on board. The flight arrived at the airport in Stockholm without incident. The passengers have been given access to the lounge as well as meals.

The passengers are going through the immigration process in order to assure that they will be able to stay in one of the city’s hotels.
