The Met Gala paps mistake Alia Bhatt for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
The ‘Raazi’ actress won the affections of millions with her Met Gala attire. Alia chose an immaculate white gown with a billowing silhouette from the Prabal Gurung collection.
Prabal has shared numerous photos and videos of Alia on Instagram. Among them is a video in which a paparazzo refers to Alia as “Aishwarya this way.” However, Alia beamed and posed for the photographers before leaving. Prabal also assisted her with her gown on the red carpet’s staircases.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is a prominent figure on international stages. However, she is more recognizable at Cannes than at the Met Gala.
After walking the red carpet, Alia posted pictures of her Met Gala attire on Instagram and revealed that one million pearls were used to create her regal ensemble.
“Met Gala — A Line of Beauty by Karl Lagerfeld…I’ve always been captivated by Chanel’s iconic brides. Karl Lagerfeld’s ingenuity shone through in the most innovative and awe-inspiring couture season after season. This, in particular supermodel Claudia Schiffer’s 1992 Chanel bridal ensemble, inspired my look for tonight. I desired to create something that felt genuine (hello, jewels!) and was proudly manufactured in India. The embroidery, created with one hundred thousand pearls, was a labor of love for @prabalgurung. “I am so honored to wear you to my first Met Ball,” she exclaimed.

“A girl can never have too many pearls… or the right accessories to complete her look, which in this case was the pearl bow in her hair.” Oh, and my Choup-ED is white,” Alia added.
