All England Badminton 2023: Saina Nehwal pulls out

The Olympic bronze medalist has been replaced by Singapore’s Yeo Jia Min as per media reports.

All England Badminton 2023: Indian star player Unknown is the cause for Saina Nehwal’s withdrawal from the All England Badminton 2023. According to media reports, the Olympic bronze medalist has been supplanted by Singaporean Yeo Jia Min.

Similarly, the men’s doubles match between Satwiairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty of India has been altered at the last minute. In the opening round, the best Indian pair will face fellow countrymen Krishna Prasad Garaga and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala. Satwik and Chriag were originally paired against Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia, who withdrew due to Sukamuljo’s illness, as stated on the official website.

It is a hidden blessing for the Indian duo, as they had never beaten the Indonesians in 11 previous matches.India will not be represented in mixed doubles, as Ishaan Bhatnagar and Tanisha Crasto have also withdrawn at the eleventh hour. According to a report in The Bridge, Bhatnagar sustained an injury during this month’s National Badminton Championships in Pune.

Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, and HS Prannoy, three of India’s best male shuttlers, will compete on the tournament’s first day. Prannoy will meet Taiwanese player Wang Tzu-wei, while Sen will face Taiwanese player Chou Tien-chen.

Prakash Padukone in 1980 and Pullela Gopichand in 2001 are the only Indians to have won the prestigious tournament, while Prakash Nath, Saina, and Sen have reached the finals.
