A US homeowner was surprised to discover his property destroyed and partially ruined upon his return, according to the New York Post. It turns out that hundreds of youngsters broke into his Austin home last weekend while the family was out to party. According to reports, the event was advertised as a “Mansion Rager” on the social media app Snapchat.
The homeowner, who wished to remain anonymous, told Fox 7: “We started receiving several phone calls from our neighbours saying there were kids on our water tower on our property, there were automobiles up and down the street, and kids were leaping over the front of our fence.”
He hurried home to find out what was going on. The homeowner claimed, “As I walked into the area, there was literally car after car after a car just attempting to leave the incident.”
As he got to his house, he was horrified to see damage all over the property, a shattered front gate, the front door wide open, and all the lights on. In addition to shattering his TV, the teens had also left beer and White Claw cans all over his property.
“I saw baseboards and sheetrock had been damaged. They had thrown things like avocados at the wall. They had hurled equipment through our garage’s sheetrock. The toys from my daughter were all over the place, the homeowner told Fox 7. Damages from the event total thousands of dollars.
The homeowner said that hundreds of children from surrounding schools had visited after taking a look at the clothing that had been left there.
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is currently looking into the event and asking anyone with information to come forward.
