Asian Games 2023 Live Updates Day 12:India won the compound women’s team archery final, 230-229, against Chinese Taipei on Thursday, Day 12 of the ongoing Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. Indian archers Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand Swami, and Parneet Kaur were on fire as India won a tense match. India also won the men’s compound archery team final for gold. Dipika Pallikal and Harinder Pal Singh earned the squash mixed doubles gold medal. PV Sindhu’s elimination from the women’s singles quarterfinals earlier was a major setback for India. The Indian shuttler lost in consecutive games to China’s He Bingjiao (16-21 12-21) in what turned out to be a rather one-sded contest. However, HS Prannoy responded well for India, winning his quarterfinal match to advance to the semifinals and ensure a medal. In the women’s hockey semifinal, India succumbed to China 0-4 and will now compete for bronze.
In men’s doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will compete. In addition to badminton, there is another racquet sport that could earn India a gold medal at the competition. In the final of men’s singles squash, the seasoned Saurav Ghosal will attempt to capture the elusive gold.
