NZ-W vs. AUS-W Highlights
NZ-W vs. AUS-W Highlights: Australia beats New Zealand by 97 runs in the women’s match. In the opening game, Australia defeated New Zealand by a score of 97 runs. Both with the bat and the ball, Kiwis were no match. After scoring 173, the Australians eliminated the Kiwis for just 76. The Australian team of Alyssa Healy, Meg Lanning, and Ellyse Perry scored 173/9. With the ball, Ashleigh Gardner excelled, scoring 5 out of 12.
Megan Schutt took two wickets in her opening over, setting the tone for the Australians’ bowling as both openers were dismissed for no runs. And the World Champions used the ball to keep New Zealand constrained during the fielding restrictions, taking a third wicket when Darcie Brown was ruled to have caught Bernadine Bezuidenhout with her fingers on the ball (14).
Ash Gardner broke Amelia Kerr’s (21) resistance, and Maddy Green, the fifth wicket to fall, was caught in a tight run-out as New Zealand’s effort started to wane.

With Brown getting 1/11 from her four overs and Gardner finishing with a sensational five-wicket haul, culminating with 5/12 from 3, the White Ferns failed to handle the calibre of Australia’s attack.
After losing their final wicket, New Zealand was bowled out for 97 runs short with six overs remaining.
NZ-W vs. AUS-W Highlights
Earlier, Australia reached 173/9, which proved to be beyond the grasp of New Zealand because to a superb Healy half-century and some strong middle-order hitting.
The toss was won by Kiwi skipper Sophie Devine, who elected to bowl first. A magnificent catch gave New Zealand a great start, and Eden Carson’s genius sent Beth Mooney back for a first over duck.
The remainder of the Powerplay, though, saw Australia’s brilliance shine through as Healy and Meg Lanning racked up the runs. Australia’s 47/1 total after six overs versus New Zealand in a Women’s T20 World Cup game was a record high for the country.
Lanning and Ash Gardner were removed by strikes from Amelia Kerr and Lea Tahuhu, respectively, but as the innings entered its last third, a potent Australian batting lineup kept the scoring pace high.
