Rapper Badshah apologises, on Monday after numerous people objected to the lyrics of his recently released song ‘Sanak’.
Badshah wrote on Instagram, “It has been brought to my attention that one of my recent releases, Sanak, appears to have wounded the feelings of some individuals. I would never intentionally or unintentionally hurt someone’s feelings. You, my admirers, receive my artistic creations and musical compositions with the utmost sincerity and enthusiasm.”
A senior priest of the Mahakaleshwar Temple in the Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh criticized Badshah for combining the name of Lord Shiva (Bholenath) with profane terms in the song. The priest Mahesh asked him to apologize and remove the name of God from the hymn. He added that he would insist a FIR be filed against the rapper.
In response to the dispute, Badshah has resolved to alter certain portions of the song.
“In light of this recent development, I have taken proactive measures to alter certain sections of the song and implemented the replacement with this new version on all digital platforms in an effort to avoid causing harm to anyone.” The replacement procedure will take a few days before the changes are reflected on all platforms; therefore, I ask for your patience during this time. I respectfully extend my deepest apologies to anyone I may have inadvertently offended. My followers will always be my rock, and I will hold them in the highest regard and with the deepest affection,” he added.
