1) It’s not surprising that Robert Downey Jr. is an actor, given that he hails from a family of actors. His father, Robert Downey Sr., is a renowned actor and director, and his mother, Elsie Ann Ford, was also an actor.
2) Robert began his acting career at an early age, playing the role of ‘Puppy’ in his father’s 1970 film ‘Pound’.
3) Robert Downey Jr. has martial arts training. He holds a black degree in the Chinese martial art of Wing Chun kung fu. When he was in his early twenties, he began martial arts training and has continued ever since.
4) In addition to being an actor, Robert is also an accomplished musician. He also performs on the guitar, piano, and percussion. Even his own album, “The Futurist,” which he wrote and produced, has been released. The album includes eight original pop ballads and two adaptations.
5) Robert Downey Jr. has battled substance dependency. He has been in and out of rehab multiple times and has been in multiple legal scrapes. In a new documentary titled ‘Sr.’, Robert focuses on his filmmaker father and the role his father played in his miserable upbringing. The film contains a clip from an old interview, believed to have occurred in the 1990s, in which Downey Sr. admits he made “a terrible, stupid mistake” by introducing his son to drugs at the age of six.
