London: According to a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Monday, Queen Consort Camilla of the United Kingdom has tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.
The 75-year-old widow of King Charles III was said to be suffering from a “seasonal” ailment; nevertheless, a positive Covid test has resulted in the cancellation of all of her engagements for the week.
Camilla, the wife of Britain’s King Charles and queen consort, has tested positive for COVID-19, Buckingham Palace said on Monday.
“After showing signs of having a cold, Her Majesty the Queen Consort has tested positive for the COVID virus,” the statement said “according to a statement issued by Buckingham Palace.
“The statement went on to say that she “sends her profound apologies to those who had been expected to attend her public engagements and regrets that she has had to cancel all of her public commitments for this week.”
In the West Midlands area of England, the Queen was set to carry out a number of activities, one of which was attending the celebration of the centennial of Elmhurst Ballet School in Edgbaston, which is located in Birmingham.
In addition to that, she was going to go to the Southwater One Library in Telford to express her gratitude to the workers there as well as the representatives of the outreach and volunteer organisations for the contribution they had made to the community.
A representative for Buckingham Palace said that they were hoping to find a replacement date for the activities that were postponed as soon as possible.

At the beginning of the previous year, Camilla became sick with Covid and was thus had to cancel her participation in a number of events.
In addition, Charles had a few positive tests for the virus over the course of the last several years, despite only having moderate symptoms.
