Cheetah dies at Kuno National Park: Sasha, a female Cheetah transported from Namibia to the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh, died of a kidney infection on Monday.
Officials from India’s Ministry of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change reported that the cheetah was infected prior to her arrival in the country last year. Sasha, who is over four and a half years old, was one of eight cheetahs relocated from Namibia to the National Park in the Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh on September 17, according to the PTI.
According to a press release, the monitoring committee determined that the cheetah was in a weakened state; consequently, she was quarantined for treatment and her blood samples were analyzed for diagnostic purposes. The examinations revealed that she had been afflicted with a kidney infection.
Even the most recent blood tests, which were administered in Namibia on August 15, 2022, revealed that her creatinine levels were above 400, confirming that she had a kidney infection prior to being brought to India.
