China, India, and Russia are emerging “major powers” with significant influence, and Beijing is prepared to strengthen ties with Moscow and New Delhi, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said on Tuesday.
In response to a query posed by TASS Agency regarding Russia’s new foreign policy concept, Mao stated, “China, Russia, and India are all influential emerging powers. As the international and regional landscape undergoes profound and complex changes, we are prepared to strengthen communication with the international community, including Russia and India, and send a positive signal to the world about defending true multilateralism and jointly addressing global challenges, according to a tweet by the Spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India.
She continued, “China and Russia are committed to developing a new type of major-nation relations characterized by mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation.” The bilateral relationship is unaffected and unaffected by third parties. President Xi Jinping made a successful state visit to Russia last month. China and Russia’s future relations were mapped out by the two chiefs of state. The two parties are diligently implementing the significant agreements reached between their respective leaders. We have complete faith in the future of China-Russia relations.”
Last Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the new Foreign Policy Concept, which states that Russia’s diplomatic priority is to strengthen and expand its relations with China and India.
The 42-page document highlighted the significance of “the deepening of ties and coordination with friendly sovereign global centres of power and development located on the Eurasian continent” in relation to relations with China and India.
During the Cold War, India and Russia maintained close strategic, military, economic, and diplomatic ties. Russia and India both describe this alliance as exclusive and privileged.
India and Russia’s strategic partnership rests on five primary pillars: politics, defense, civil nuclear energy, counterterrorism cooperation, and space. India and Russia commemorated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic ties.
According to the document, Russia will continue to build a particularly privileged strategic partnership with India with the goal of enhancing and expanding cooperation in all areas and placing special emphasis on increasing bilateral trade, strengthening investment and technological ties, and ensuring their resistance to the destructive actions of hostile states and their alliances.
