Sisodia’s bail plea to be heard on April 5: Former Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia’s bail application in a money laundering case related to alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi’s excise policy is scheduled to be heard on April 5 by the Rouse Avenue Court. (GNCTD).
The Enforcement Directorate filed an extensive response opposing the Sisodia’s bail application on Saturday. The Special Judge MK Nagpal adjourned the case until April 5 and asked the ED and served Sisodia’s attorney with a copy of the response.Sisodia is currently being held in judicial custody until April 5 for an ED-related Excise case.
Previously, when placing Sisodia on ED confinement Considering the complexities of the case, the number of persons/accused involved in the commission of the alleged offence of money laundering, and the volume of the records or data seized during the investigation and required to be analyzed by the Investigating Agency, the court stated that the investigation is bound to take some time and the IO or Investigating Agency cannot be faulted or blamed for the delay.
Prior to his appearance before the ED, attorney Zohaib Hossain stated that massive mail data and mobile data are being analyzed forensically. The day LG wrote to the CBI, Sisodia’s mobile phone, which he had been using for a long time, was replaced.
In addition, ED’s counsel argued that the arrestee’s computer data confirmed the arrestee’s statements. During the interpretation, mobile data, email data, and cloud data were also received.Earlier, ED stated that the act of proactive destruction of evidence leads to only one conclusion: that Manish Sisodia made conscious efforts to destroy evidence of money laundering, while seeking remand of Manish Sisodia in the Excise Policy case.
Advocates Zohaib Hossain and Naveen Kumar Matta had previously argued before the ED that Manish Sisodia’s statements from March 7 and March 9 of this year were also false. “When queried about his association with Dinesh Arora, who oversaw the transfer of kickbacks from the South Group to Vijay Nair, he provided an answer that contradicts what has been revealed by independent parties/interested parties.
The ED previously informed the court that Sisodia had purchased SIM cards and mobile phones in the names of other individuals.There was a plot to formulate the excise policy. ED argued in court that the conspiracy was orchestrated by Vijay Nair and others, and that the Excise policy was enacted to generate extraordinary profit margins for wholesalers.
ED informed the court that the wholesale profit margin of 12 percent for private entities was never discussed in the GoM meeting.In response to Sisodia’s attorney’s arguments, the ED attorney told the court that if the policy is a matter of executive discretion, then neither the coal fraud nor the 2G scam would have occurred.
After hours of interrogation at Tihar Jail, the ED on March 9 arrested former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia in the liquor policy case. During his judicial custody in Tihar Jail, where he was confined after his arrest by the CBI, he was arrested.
In the liquor policy case, the CBI detained Sisodia on February 26, this year. On March 24, the same court reserved judgment on Sisdodia’s parole application in the CBI case and set March 31 as the date for pronouncing judgment.

Sisodia was detained earlier by the CBI in its ongoing investigation of a case involving alleged irregularities in the formulation and implementation of the National Capital Territory of Delhi’s excise policy. (GNCTD).
