Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday inaugurated 28 infrastructure projects related to the Army. The Defence Minister dedicated to the nation 28 infrastructure projects including bridges and roads in vital areas of Ladakh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Jammu and Kashmir to boost military preparedness and socio-economic development.
Defence Minister’s visit after Tawang clash
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh inaugurated the projects built at a cost of Rs 724 crore at a ceremony held at Siyom Bridge on the Along-Yinkiong Road in Arunachal Pradesh. This was his first visit to the border state after infiltration attempts by Chinese troops in the Tawang sector a few days back.
Military strength will increase in border states
According to information, the projects included 22 bridges including Siyom bridge, three roads and three other projects. Of these, eight projects are in Ladakh, five in Arunachal Pradesh, four in Jammu and Kashmir, three each in Sikkim, Punjab and Uttarakhand and two in Rajasthan.
Defence Minister praised the soldiers
The Defence Minister said that recently our brave soldiers on the LAC in Tawang sector faced the enemies with great bravery and promptness. He said that this was possible because the region has adequate infrastructure. He said that this gives us motivation to work in even more remote areas.
