The European Union believes that India’s G20 presidency will “find a way” to end the war between Russia and Ukraine, an EU envoy said on Monday.
Astuto told ANI in an interview that they have high hopes for India’s G20 presidency. He also said that India has a programme that is very ambitious and that the EU backs.
“We don’t live in a situation where things go on as usual. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is completely unjustified and a clear violation of the UN Charter “he said.
“So, things aren’t going as usual, but we have faith that the Indian presidency will find a way to steer the proceedings towards a positive end. We plan to help Ukraine in both political and economic ways “he added.
In Ukraine, the Russian military has been using drones a lot in recent months to attack military bases and other important infrastructure.
Meanwhile, at the EU headquarters in Brussels, the European Commission’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell stated that to counter a growing number of Russian troops, Ukraine needs more ammunition, in addition to other pledges of military support from allies, CNN reported.
He said that Russia has “almost twice as many soldiers in Ukraine as there were at the start of the war.” He also said that the next few weeks will be very important.
“The Ukrainian army needs a lot of weapons right away to fight back against Russian aggression,” Borrell said. “Every gun needs ammunition.”
“For this, time is very important. Quickness saves lives. We have to act quickly. Not only to give more help, but also to do it faster, “Borrell added.

He said that the fastest way to get ammunition to Ukraine is to share what the European armies already have, so that no time is lost waiting for them to be made.
