An employee of Microsoft claims she was fired after a call
In April 2021, the woman received a call from #micorsoft with a job offer, but she didn’t trust it. She shared her story on LinkedIn. I kept my employment there a secret from anyone. The day began on May 8th, 2023, with an urgent call informing me that I had been let go due to organisational changes and cost reductions brought on by the state of the economy. It was a difficult road, and working at Microsoft was incredibly difficult. In just two and a half years, my career has advanced so quickly for me.
The woman went on to say that she was the team member who was the youngest and had no prior expertise in the position. She was always willing to learn, though.
The woman wrote, “During the journey of my layoff, everyone was saying it’s not you, you are more than awesome in what you are doing and it never been you, it’s just the company decision and life is not fair; but it still hurt though.” The woman talked about how people advised her not to take layoffs personally because it is just the company’s decision.

“Organisational and workforce adjustments are a necessary and regular part of managing our business,” a spokesman said in response to questions about the layoffs from CNBC. For our future and the support of our clients and partners, we will continue to give strategic development sectors top priority and financial investment.
