An explosion occurred in Hiranagar, Jammu & Kashmir, on Wednesday night, prompting a massive search operation in the area.

Kathua (Jammu and Kashmir): An explosion occurred in Hiranagar, Jammu & Kashmir, on Wednesday night, prompting a massive search operation in the area.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Mukesh Singh stated that an explosion-like sound was detected near BPP Sanyal in Hiranagar, Kathua district, near the International Border (IB) on Wednesday evening.

According to the official, the explosion was audible within the jurisdiction of the Hiranagar police station near the international border in the Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir.
After receiving word of the explosion, a police team led by SSP Kathua Shivdeep Singh raced to the scene and began a search.

No injuries have thus far been reported.

During the preliminary investigation, it was observed that neither objects nor people were in motion, the official added.
“As soon as we received word of the loud explosion, our police teams rushed to the scene and launched a search operation,” said SSP Kathua Shivdeep Singh.

However, he ruled out the possibility of cross-border infiltration.
As our forensic team has collected samples from the crime scene, he also stated that further investigation will begin the following morning.

Ram Lal Kalia, a resident of the Sanyal village, stated that the explosion caused pandemonium among the villagers.
