In a career spanning nearly three decades, Rani Mukerji has depicted a variety of distinct characters. Through her roles in films such as Black, Hichki, Mardaani, and No One Killed Jessica, she has provided audiences with some of the most beloved female protagonists.
And now, in Mrs. Chatterjee v. Norway, she has once again demonstrated that she is a woman of substance and vigour who fights for her rights and speaks out against injustice.
In the film, Rani plays a mother who fights for her children against the state. The film is based on The Journey of a Mother by Sagarika Chakaraborty.
Sagarika Chatterjee fought against the Norwegian government for the right to be reunited with her children, who were purportedly removed from her and placed in foster care, with the promise that they would not be returned until they turned 18 years old.
Numerous individuals applaud Rani’s motherhood. Rani expressed her delight at the film’s triumph, telling ANI, “It’s always gratifying to see the tales of Indian women heard internationally. I have always endeavoured to bring the stories of Indian women to a global audience. “Because I am an Indian woman and am aware of our strengths, I always make sure that our stories are heard through my work.”
