Fresh Rainfall and Hail storms Predicted in India Tomorrow, According to IMD

IMD announced on Tuesday that portions of Northwest India will experience a new round of rainfall and hail storms from March 23 to 25.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) announced on Tuesday that portions of Northwest India will experience a new round of rainfall and hail storms from March 23 to 25.

On Thursday and Friday, the MET department forecasted mild to moderate rain and thunderstorms over the western Himalayas, Punjab, Haryana, portions of Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, according to its most recent bulletin.

Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, portions of Tamil Nadu, and Kerala will receive sporadic precipitation on the same days as they descend towards the South.

Over the next two days, the maximum temperature in central India will gradually increase by 2 to 3 degrees, according to the IMD.

Monday’s weather in the nation’s capital included torrential rainfall and strong winds.

Unpredictability

Meteorologists have warned of a severe season of intense heat waves and soaring temperatures in the United States this year, as the weather is becoming more unpredictable than ever before.
In April and May, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) foresees a greater likelihood of heatwaves capable of causing record-breaking temperatures.

The return of El Nino, a global ocean phenomenon associated with a below-average monsoon, is also a significant concern.

Several regions of the country have experienced heavy rainfall this week.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam, and Meghalaya have experienced torrential rainfall in isolated locations over the past twenty-four hours. (IMD).

In the preceding twenty-four hours, isolated reports of hailstorms were made in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir.

Influence on agriculture

Even though the rain caused by the western disturbance provided relief from the high temperatures caused by unseasonable heat waves, it caused farmers to scramble to safeguard their crops.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has requested that farmers delay the harvest of mustard in Punjab and Haryana, as well as wheat and pulses in central Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, due to untimely rainfall.

Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar told the news agency PTI on Tuesday, “according to the preliminary assessment, there is not much of an impact on the rabi crops.” The damage to the standing rabi crops is still being assessed by the state administrations, he said.

State governments can utilise the State Disaster Relief Fund (SDRF) to provide immediate aid to producers following a crop survey. He added that the federal government can provide additional funds from the National Disaster Relief Fund upon submission of a memo.
