The National Database and Registration Authority of the Pakistani government recently requested that Google Play Store remove 14 apps from the app store in Pakistan. The authority indicated that the issue involved the sale of people’s personal data. Google Play Store recently complied with this request.
It was stated that the apps were “illegally and deceptively” using NADRA’s name and products to impersonate NADRA and mislead users into believing that the apps were in some way officially affiliated with, authorised by, or operated by NADRA.
