Govt blocks 14 apps in Jammu and Kashmir: The Central government has blocked 14 mobile messenger applications that were extensively used to spread terror in Jammu and Kashmir. According to sources, militants in the region have been using these applications to communicate with their supporters and on-the-ground personnel (OGWs).
Crypviser, Enigma, Safeswiss, Wickrme, Mediafire, Briar, BChat, Nandbox, Conion, IMO, Element, Second line, Zangi, and Threema are among the mobile applications that have been blocked.
An official stated that agencies have been monitoring the channels of communication used by OGWs and terrorists to communicate.
During an investigation of one of these channels, it was discovered that the app had no representative in India, making it difficult to monitor platform activity.”With the assistance of other intelligence agencies operating in the valley, a list of such applications that pose a threat to national security and violate Indian law was subsequently compiled.

The relevant Ministry was informed of the proposal to ban these mobile applications after the list was compiled. According to Section 69A of the Information Technology Act of 2000, these applications have been blocked.
The intelligence agencies informed higher-ups in official communications that these applications are spreading terrorist propaganda in Silicon Valley.
