Pandya, who had guided Gujarat Titans to the IPL 2022 championship, has lately taken on a leadership position for the India T20I team. There are rumours that Pandya is being considered as a long-term candidate for the T20I leadership.
He recently offered a thorough explanation of how he changed his game to suit the needs of the club. I’ve believed in partnerships and want to give my batting partner and my team some assurance and calmness that I’m there. I’ve played more games than any of these guys, so I’ve learned how to accept and swallow pressure and make sure everything is calm. Maybe I have to get my strike rate down for that. Taking new roles is always something I look forward to. I want to take the new ball role too, because I don’t have the new ball skills.

Moreover, he said that his position is similar to the one that former India captain MS Dhoni adopted at the end of his international career. We are getting the results, so it’s alright if I have to play a bit slowly. “I don’t mind playing the part that somewhere down the road, Mahi used to play. At that time, I was young and hitting all over the park. But since he’s gone, all of a sudden, the duty falls upon me.
