Heavy Rain and Snowfall . In Himachal Pradesh, the weather is expected to remain bad for five days. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Center Shimla for heavy rain and snowfall in many parts of the state on Tuesday. Similarly, a yellow alert has been issued for the low-lying and plains of the state for thunderstorm and hailstorm on January 24 and 25. According to the Centre, the process of rain and snowfall may continue in the state till January 26. In many areas of middle and high mountains, the weather may remain bad even on 27 January.

Heavy Rain and Snowfall in Himachal . On the other hand, after the snowfall in the past, due to the sunshine, it is getting cold in the higher areas. Many areas are in the grip of cold wave. Keylong recorded a minimum temperature of minus 9.4 degrees Celsius. Kalpa recorded a minimum of -4.8, Manali -1.8, Shimla 2.8, Sundernagar 1.7, Solan 1.6, Dharamshala 5.2 and Paonta Sahib 10.0 degrees Celsius. Due to snowfall in district Kullu and Lahaul valley, the life of rural areas is yet to return on track.

Border Roads Organisation, NH and Public Works Department are involved in restoring the roads. Traffic is at a standstill on 148 roads in Kullu and Lahaul Spiti districts. Manali-Keylong and Aut-Banjar-Sainj Highway-305 are also closed.

According to the department, there is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in many parts of Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Kullu, Shimla, Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur. Tourists and local people have been advised to follow the guidelines issued by the concerned departments.

Manali-based SASE has issued an avalanche warning for Kullu along with Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla and Chamba’s Pangi, Killar in the next 24 hours. The district administration has instructed tourists and common people not to go towards sensitive areas.
