According to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), Israeli forces have seized control of a Hamas military outpost in Gaza City, where they discovered missiles and anti-tank launchers, weaponry, and intelligence materials. Israeli aircraft targeted a cell of about ten Hamas members on the orders of ground troops from the Nahal Brigade, who had located the cell and requested the aerial assault. The soldiers, according to the IDF, identified an anti-tank squad operating nearby and ordered an additional airstrike.
“An Air Force fighter jet attacked a squad of approximately ten terrorists in collaboration with Nahal Brigade fighters who identified the squad and directed the assault,” the Israel Air Force reported. Subsequently, the combatants discerned an anti-tank squad in close proximity and guided an additional Air Force aircraft in an assault against the squad.
It was reported that the Israeli military targeted dozens of positions overnight in preparation for mortar strikes into Israel, while Israel’s naval forces targeted a number of Hamas targets.
According to the Israeli military, the soldiers also identified Hamas militants who had taken refuge in a building in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, close to the Al-Quds Hospital. “They intended to launch an assault against Israeli ground forces,” the military reported.
According to the report, “significant secondary explosions” brought about by an aerial assault on the area proved that a munitions depot was present.
IDF announced on X (previously Twitter) the following: “One month has passed since the October 7 Massacre. Although society may have progressed, we remain dormant to that privilege. Although Hamas initiated this conflict, it remains one that we must wage. One that must be won.”
According to the Israel Defense Forces, Wael Asefa, the commander of Hamas’ Deir al-Balah battalion, was also slain.
