Tuesday, Gwyneth Paltrow appeared in court in the state of Utah, where she is being sued for damages over a 2016 skiing tragedy by a retired optometrist. According to the lawsuit, Gwyneth Paltrow collided with Terry Sanderson, “striking him hard, knocking him unconscious, and causing a brain injury, four broken ribs, and other serious injuries.” According to Sky News, the actor has denied the allegation, and her attorney has called Mr. Sanderson’s version of events “utter bull****.”
On the first day of court in Park City, her attorney, Steven Owens, stated that Mr. Sanderson is “obsessed” with the litigation and that it was a “meritless claim of false allegation.”
“It’s actually kind of offensive. That she somehow abandoned him incapacitated and fled? Owens stated, “We believe it to be complete nonsense.”
The retired optometrist is seeking $300,000 from Ms. Paltrow. (Rs 2.47 crore). Ms. Paltrow claims that Mr. Sanderson skied into her back and is countersuing for $1 plus legal fees.
The alleged collision occurred in February 2016 at Deer Valley, a posh ski resort located in the Rocky Mountains above the posher Park City (Utah) resort, when the actor allegedly skied “out of control” during a family vacation.
Sanderson’s attorneys stated that Paltrow stood up, turned, and skied away, leaving Sanderson dazed and sprawled in the snow.
However, her legal team told the jury that Mr. Sanderson, 76, was the one who ploughed into her, causing what they termed a “full body blow.”
Ms. Paltrow’s attorney stated that Mr. Sanderson is “blind in one eye” and has “decreasing vision” in the other, implying that impaired eyesight was the cause of the accident.

Ms. Paltrow is an Academy Award-winning actress best known for her roles in the films ‘Shakespeare in Love’ and ‘Iron Man’ by Marvel. She claimed that Mr. Sanderson is exaggerating his ailments and attempting to take advantage of her fame and affluence.
Tuesday’s proceedings began with the actor donning a white turtleneck sweater and sitting in silence next to her attorney. She is anticipated to testify in her own defence later.
The court will hear from Ms. Paltrow’s spouse Brad Falchuk and children Moses and Apple.
