On Sunday, two parties of men engaged in stone-throwing over a cricket match, according to Satyapal Singh, Assistant Superintendent of Rural Police in Etawah.
According to ASP Rural, the incident was precipitated by a discussion of a Saturday cricket match.
In describing the incident, ASP Singh stated, “Two parties engaged in stone throwing.” Previously, the cricket team was also a source of conflict between the two organizations. They played another match on Saturday, and discussions about that match prompted the Sunday stone-throwing incident.
“Action has already been taken; the accused will now be charged. No firearms were discharged. Stones were thrown, but no one was injured,” the ASP added.
ASP Singh said, in regards to the arrest of the suspects, “Some have been arrested, and the rest will be arrested shortly.” A criminal complaint will be filed against the accused under serious sections.”
