Uttarakhand Police urges pilgrims to be extra cautious: In light of the persistent precipitation in Kedarnath Dham since Monday morning, the Uttarakhand Police have advised pilgrims to be cautious during their yatra.Since this morning, there has been continuous precipitation in Kedarnath Dham. Please exercise caution in consideration of the weather and begin the voyage in accordance with the weather forecast. “Dial 112 for assistance in an emergency,” stated Uttarakhand Police.
Sunday, the Indian Meteorological Department issued a four-day warning for hailstorms and thunderstorms in the state.”The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for the next four days for poor weather in the state. “An alert has been issued for hailstorms and thunderstorms with 70 km/h winds and heavy snowfall above 3500 meters,” the release stated.
“It has intermittently snowed at Kedarnath Dham for the past thirteen days,” the press release stated in regards to the state’s hazy and poor weather conditions. The process of snowfall in Dham began on April 18, and the snowfall that began Saturday afternoon and persisted until nighttime also began on April 18.
“The weather in Kedarnath has been cloudy since this morning. Kedarnath is growing colder as a result of snowfall, according to the release.Previously, due to problems caused by snowfall in Kedarnath and Badrinath and rainfall in low-lying areas, the police in Srinagar suspended late-night Chardham Yatris.
In conjunction with this, an announcement is made encouraging passengers to stay in neighboring cities.”In Srinagar, Garhwal police have established checkpoints near the NIT Uttarakhand and the Badrinath bus terminal, where Chardham Yatris are being detained; only those with online bookings for a night’s stay will be permitted to proceed to Rudraprayag. Passengers who have not reserved permits are urged to remain in Srinagar only, according to Ravi Saini, SHO of Srinagar.
Ravi Saini stated that Srinagar’s accommodations are sufficient and that passengers will not encounter any issues.”Passengers are urged to resume their journey once the weather improves,” he added.On April 25, Kedarnath Dham opened its doors to devotees amid the chanting of shlokas (hymns) and the beating of loud drums.
